About the risks and chances of artificial intelligence

In the past years, mankind has made a huge progress in the technological sector. In the past months we created computers that could solve logical tasks and play logical games even better than ourselves.
This development frightens many people because they do not understand those computers.

In a certain way, we all are scared of the worst-case-scenario: Robots taking over the world and enslaving us.

However, this scenario is almost impossible. Those programming the machines will always include a backdoor and an emergency poweroff-switch. The production of risky machines like war robots will be under strict regulation by the government. Artificial Intelligence is able to solve the biggest problems of mankind by overpowering our knowledge.

Indeed, we know there will always be some corrupt people ruining this concept. What if a company doesn't follow the rules? What if an approval will be granted against money?
In the end, great ideas and concepts get always destroyed by those who do not share them.

We can create intelligent machines, but at what price? At the price of earth's destruction lead by our very own machines? We will never be able to eliminate the risk of that scenario.

At this point, I cannot decide what is wrong or right. Every single person will have to decide for theirself.
