6 Awesomely Powerful & Easy Ways To Promote Steemit To Family, Friends & The Community 💪💪😎😎
Hello Friends,
Steemit is a social media platform that revolutionizes the basic tenets of socializing by giving financial incentives for participation through meritocracy. Read that again, if you may. Lolx! Simply because the system is based on meritocracy, out of the 400,000+ users, there are many awesome successful people here. But no matter how awesome this platform is, it will not yield it's end-goal if many other awesome people don't get to hear about it.
To get Steemit into the consciousness of masses we have to use the following methods of promotion which have been tested and trusted to be workable strategies. Here they are:
source
1 Harness Talents & Reward Them:
I would say this method was propounded by the awesome @surpassinggoogle. His @steemgigs platform is changing how people get paid for their works. As a freelancer, you could easily get paid for your works in SBD/STEEM. Its much better than fiverr if you ask me. He believes that Steemit should be a platform to help anyone reach their dreams and goals. He said,
- We want even the newest steemians to tap into their innovative sides, from day one.
- Join steemit, then bring upon steemit the visions/dreams that existed before steemit; play them out (by means of a #steemgig), with steem/steemit as a sandbox; evolve it by means of unadulterated feedback from a community of great minds and bring it to life eventually. You do all these, while offering a service in exchange for steem/SBD; honing your expertise and playing a role in historical history by helping others bring their innovations into existence; while expanding on your vision down the road and building a more solid roadmap.
- "Removing barriers to entry" means that "everyone can participate", opening steemit to more growth!
So the summary of what he's saying is that Steemit is beyond just blogging. That is to say that Steemit is not just for bloggers or writers or content creators. He suggests that if you know an artist, a singer, a painter, a programmer, a web designer, a plumber, a bricklayer, an educator, a freelancer, ...infact any area of life you can think about, that Steemit is for them too.
He has successfully built a home for everyone under the auspices of @steemgigs. There's a teeming discord server where newbies can join and learn how to utilize their given skills and make SBD/STEEM as income.
2 Spread On Social Media:
@ejemai and @stach have just launched the #Project20MillionNaija Viral Campaign with 500SBD available for financing the project. They aim to bring 20million Nigerians to Steemit by the end of 2018. The idea is awesome in that it rewards people who spread the gospel of Steemit on various Social platforms of choice. I have gotten rewards in the turn of about 10SBD for promoting Steemit on Facebook. This is like icing on the cake because many people already do that for free. Once you can show proof of work, you get rewarded daily.
Social media has become a normal thing in this current society. Many youth spend a huge chunk of their lives on the platform. Besides most of us are already on different social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp, Snapchat, LinkedIn etc. SO it becomes easy to talk about it because the audience is already there. When the virus of Steemit catches on in the social media, then it will definitely catch on in the real life.
Remember to use your proof of earnings. Thats generally what people want to see. They want to know whether you have earned something from the platform, before they take the necessary step of joining. Put this mantra about Steemit in your mind always:
Come for the money, stay for the community...
3 Enhance Community Participation via Development of Physical Hubs:
@stach is the leading example of this sort of promotion project supported by @sndbox as a SANDCASTLE Project. This is recorded in the history of Steemit as the first physical hub. It happened to be the idea of a Nigerian @ejemai who cited the physical hub in the city of Portharcourt Nigeria.
The vision and goal is:
To decentralize the offline.
This encourages quick onboarding of new users and also serves as proof of reality. In Nigeria and most African countries, a good percentage of the population are yet to get accustomed to the internet. Also because of cultural background and beliefs, they tend to mistrust anything they cannot see. So I agree with @stach that this method will actually bridge that gap and help the entire community accept Steemit as a social platform and STEEM/SBD as a leading cryptocurrency.
Also to increase enjoyment of the hub, its important to find something that the society needs and provide it. This attracts people to the hub to fill that need. In the case of Nigeria, internet data is very expensive, hence providing a hub where WiFi and Electricity could be used for free is a winning formular to get people to Steemit.
4 Steem Meetups & Festivals:
The success of SteemFest2 is a testimony to the workability of this method. When people are able to gather together and meet others beyond the online presence, it usually makes a whole lot of difference. It increases member interaction and on-boarding of new invites.
It doesn't always have to be this huge/big for the impact to be felt. The Steemit In Nigeria (S.I.N) Conference that held at Ibadan Nigeria on the 2nd - 4th of November was pretty eventful. Members from all over Nigeria attended and many new Steemians were born because of the programme. To show how awesome it was, it even got the support of big names like @maryfavour, @papa-pepper, @lukestokes etcz.
So if such community meetups are organized often at regular intervals, it will help to spread Steemit. It doesn't have to always be huge like SteemFest2 or S.I.N conference. It can even be between 2 or more members of STeemit who live close by.
5 Just Make Awesome T-Shirts:
Lolx. As simple as this sounds, it actually works all the time. If you make it awesome enough, people are going to engage you in conversations because of your T-Shirt. Its like a market that automtically sells itself. Check-out these guys with nice T-shirts that are freely advertising Steemit.
@allasyummyfood: She went to the street to preach the gospel of Steemit while giving them a slice of cake
@maryfavour: She wore the T-shirt while doing a presentation to 4 of her friends
@starkerz: Matt Stackey loves to promote Steemit in funny and unique ways
@ejemai: He wore this awesome T-shirt while going to Ibadan for a presentation
See more pictures of him with @tojukaka and @thelovejunkie:
6 Find A Way To Bring It Up In Every Discussion:
As no man is an island, we all have someone or people we converse with on a daily basis. Be it at our abode, or work place, or school or church or parties...we must talk with people. So its a simple formular; while having these normal daily conversations, just quietly chip it in that you are on this new awesome social platform called Steemit where you are being rewarded for your works. Just state the benefits but DO NOT INVITE THEM!. The last bit of that sentence is very important.
Try these:
Hey do you know how much I made today?
Hey I'm now a blogger
Hey It feels good to get paid for using social media
Hey I just got liked by a whale...
It may not sound like much...but by the time you keep chipping it in. Soon enough they are going to be the ones asking you about Steemit. It gets easier to sell stuff when the customer is coming to you rather than when you are chasing the customer. Let's call it the soft-sell method. As you keep doing this, gradually, Steemit is going to get into their consciousness so much that they would want to be a part of it. You can now invite them because they are ready!
IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE:
You must remember to never push too hard in all these endeavours especially for newbiew coz you may discourage them. If you over-push they would think that you are gaining something from their joining (referral bonus). I usually tell them upfront that there is no referral bonus and try to explain my motives for inviting them. It helps when they have a sense of belonging and when they know that you have no ulterior motives. They would trust you and be willing to join and be committed in the community
Another important point is to look for not just anyone. But invite those with valuable content, awesome personality and talents. Its not everyone that will be willing to put in the work needed for success here on this platform. They may just end up being a statistic (dead fish). Some touts may come in and start spamming or scamming people. So, its important to bring in the right persons.
Also, its almost useless inviting people if you are going to let them wander about aimlessly like lost sheep on the platform. Strategies for onboarding must be paramount in your invite formular. If possible a mentoring programme to teach newbies how to use Steemit, etiquettes, profile setup, wallet basics, posting and editing basics and community participation would go a long way in increasing motivation and boost morale for success.
On the average, a larger community means a stronger community. Hence we must keep maintaining the ideals of sharing, caring and multiplying by inviting new raw talents and helping them reach their potentials on Steemit and beyond..

As you may have noticed, Africans are doing great things on STeemit and you will be in the past if you don't catch-up soon...
Cheers! 🍷🍷

Thanks @nairadaddy for sharing.
I am so happy that we are all getting to realize that publicity is the key if we want more value for steem.
I'll like you to make a review on @jerrybanfield 's post
Steem Budget Proposals Whitepaper!
I was a bit lazy about steem promotion but after seeing his post, I wrote this one
I have decided to help improve steem value by joining others to promote steemit in Nigeria
We all need to speak up for the betterment of Steem blockchain network
I have gone through your post. Awesome stuff you have there.
That JerryBanfield's post for Budget Proposal is a quite detailed method for us to get ahead fast. I think the basic tenets is to have some form of reward system for those who promote this site.
What @stach is doing with #Project20MillionNiaja Viral Campaign is a step in that right direction...
Thanks for stopping by...Cheers bro!

when apply the mentioned methodes surelly we get more people in the network and now 400000 are more that is great if it cross just the million are then it every thing will increse with that number i think people is key for any network specially for social net work we are steemit can not select the people in are who out major thing is number when slowly they will learn tricks of the trade any one who doing well and spending the time then he will rewarded so main thing is people and what steemit return them we have also example of the futurenetclub, empowr, and few other stes when get some thing they want to lot of jobless invite more people the world people need an source where they earn for living. so let us hands togather and reach as many people as they earn then everyone will earn more and more thank you.
Hey @alidervash. This is a thoughtful comment. Perhaps we should just keep inviting people we meet because we never know who would be very active. Thanks for your nice POV. Cheers!
#Hug-Challenge!
Thank you and welcome.
Those are all great ways to promote Steemit. I've gotten a few friends to join, and I recently got my mom @doverland started on here! I'm always talking about Steemit and how awesome it is, so once they hear me talk about it a few times they start getting interested. I've got a couple Steemit t-shirts too and that also really gets people wondering about it. I think Steemit is gonna grow to be huge!

Wow! YOU are the embodiment of the promo-rules I listed then. Welldone for your goodworks of promoting this platform. We don't do it for referral bonus. We do it for the future. Cheers man!
#Hug-Challenge!
Bro please could you turn everyday into yesterday. It seems to be making more grammatical sense over here.
Thanks for the suggestion brov. Cheers!
This is good....thanks
You are welcome @ponmile. Keep steeming!
