A wonderful thought Sean, as a people we need to learn from history, as mentioned above, why did the price go that high in the region? One can make some sense of it, sadly lurking in the background is always greed and manipulation.

Another point of history to consider is the failed Euro system, each country had their own currency, culture and pride, when you place it all into one basket it has to be done with great forethought.

Late 80's and early 90's I remember trading in forex to different countries before it all went into buying/selling over border in US Dollars only, again not a fair system. Each transaction attracted fees and instead of only between 2 currencies it was now 3, then along came crazy International Rulings taboo.

One good stable digital currency for International Trading on the Blockchain, (for ledger keeping, everything above board and clean) that would be a dream come true IMHO @bitcoinflood
