Calling All Travelers! Steemit Now Provides a Way For You to Travel Room & Board Free

in #community7 years ago (edited)

The Official Description and instructions for use, explaining the function of this blog and the @shep-heard Steemit Community Tag.

2018-04-09-13-19-09.jpg

@shep-heard is a wing of SHEP and are the travelers, volunteers, Workshop participants, those looking for a gathering of like-minded individuals, work traders, prospective Nannies, Teachers, International Students and anyone else wanting to travel, trade a skill, knowledge or light labor in exchange for Room and Board without the need for monetary exchange.

Its purpose is to unite Steemians in the flesh for mutual benefit. Travelers can easily find money free accomodations by helping other Steemians, whom post a call for help, offer a service, a place to crash or are putting on an event under the #kin-shep tag.

Using #shep-heard for any one of the five tags in your post ensures the #kin-shep and ourselves can easily find your post for curation and to help find a good match between Host and Helper. @shep-heard will also offer upvotes to the blogs it curates, as well. We are here to help you succeed in your goals to make the world a better place.

You can then add your post to the SteemitWorldMap and drop them in the rooms specifically created individually, for both the posts tagged with #kin-shep and #shep-heard in the HomeSteadersOnline Discord Channel.

The only step required is using the appropriate tag. The beauty of SHEP is that it's completely free, is built out of existing structures, each step is 100% voluntary, none of your keys are required and your Steemit Blog is your profile.

Your first step is to create your blog. Below is simply a suggestion for how to organize your blog. Make sure you organize the information, so it's easy for the @kin-shep to follow and it really helps if you have references.

Dates and locations available and Discord Handle if you have one.

This is just an example and you may structure your blog however you wish. It's important to touch on as many topics as needed and to provide adequate details.

You then add the #shep-heard tag for any one of your five tags. To search for hosts you look under the #kin-shep tag.

Once your blog is posted, you may visit the HomesteadersOnline Discord Channel. The room to drop your post into, is the same as the tag #shep-heard. This is located at the end of the Room list, so you'll need to scroll down to find it.

Then for further exposure you may add your post to the SteemitWorldMap. This step should only be used, if a good amount of detail for a specific location is included.

If you are just creating a blog to advertise yourself to a prospective host, this is not a travel related post and should not be added to the map.

If you are blogging about your experiences from your interaction with a #kin-shep host and does give specific information about that location, then it may be added to the map.

How to search SteemitWorldMap

  • Go to SteemitWorldMap.

  • Tap the Filter Option and type #kin-shep in the appropriate box.

  • Scroll the map to the location you'll be visiting and zoom in.

  • Each pin is a blog for that specific location. Tap and read the blog. Hopefully one will suit your needs.

Note: Steemit blogs allow for comments beyond the seven day edit period.

SteemitWorldMap is the brainchild of @martibis. The @steemitworldmap blog is a team of curators and you may be lucky enough to be featured in their blog. If so, you'll also receive an upvote from the platform.

Please show your support for SteemitWorldMap by following @martibis and/or @steemitworldmap and upvote any comments made by them on your blog. It will be greatly appreciated.

Then you can visit the #kin-shep tag and/or @kin-shep channel to search through hosts and see if you can find any, which are a good fit for your needs. If not, keep checking back and hopefully a #kin-shep host will see your blog and contact you.

@s-h-e-p is very new and until we get more visibility the choices will be a limited at first. We ask that you bear with and help us to get the word out. I believe once Steemians see this is available, there will be plenty of traffic for everyone to choose from.

Since Steemit is a busy place, blogs tend to find their way so far down the tag feeds in just a few days that they can be lost forever, figuratively. You are welcome to submit blogs to the platform as often as you wish. This is a good thing, considering it gives you an extra topic to blog about, periodically.

Wow, exciting times, so many great initiatives popping up on steemit!
You guys, the-hearth, and now eco-alex has created the ecotrain bot, a delegation/voting bot to fund eco-building & sustainable communities based on blockchain, hopefully leading to many eco builds in the future and many opportunities for shep-heards.
All the best for your endeavours, trying to make the world a better place.

Thank you for mentioning us amongst those other respectable initiatives.

I tried to contact @eco-alex about our initiative, but he never responded.

These instructions are great! This article adds so much clarity to the combination of @steemitworldmap with the @s-h-e-p initiative!

I really appreciate that the only required participation point within the program is using the appropriate wing tag to label your post 🙌

Very much looking forward to curating posts in the @kin-shep channel 😊

Let's hope we have made it clear and easy enough to motivate some blogging for the platform.😎

Awesome! A clear and detailed way to put yourself out here. Really appreciate this 😉💕🌿

Thank you for your support, my friend. I am hoping this breaks the ice and makes it simple enough to alleviate any anxiety one may have, when getting involved with something new.

I hope your vehicles have been repaired or are on their way to being brought back into working order.😀

Thank you kindly! One is fixed, the other has parts ordered and Ini will endeavor with a friend to repair it over time.

Yes definitely. Oftentimes things like this are aided by a form of some type, which you now have in the form of this post! I’ll resteem at the hearth!

That is invaluable...😀

If Ini needs a hand, I may be able to help and could use a break from my Urban landscape...

Thanks for the offer! You seem like an interesting and valuable human to know and you have an amazing skill set. The offer is kind, although a friend has offered his space and tools to get the truck back in order. We're gearing up for the season and have a few things like outdoor shower and kitchen to set up before we're ready for visitors but let's for sure be in touch. You seem to bring a clear and direct energy and we both appreciate that. Thanks again. 😀

Thank you for your kind words, my friend. Do forget, having a building workshop is a great way to create those things. Having more hands and bringing in an extra set of skills or two can help you create a structure superior to one you may otherwise build. A composting toilet and separate urinal for men and a outdoor solar heated shower are quite easy to engineer. A wattle and daub structure is great for this type of building. A timber frame cobb structure is great for an outdoor kitchen area.

Love it. Let us know how/when we can boost you with a resteem!! 🌿💚

Wow, that is sooo nice of you! At your discretion would be the easiest...Early in the morning during the week is usually a good time. Thank you so much for your efforts and work to make Steemit a better place, my friend.

This post should really leave no more questions regarding @s-h-e-p. Followed, all three of them! Okay, so what was I gonna do next? Right... that post I'm still planing on writing.... :-) No worries, I'm getting around to it soon.

Thank you my friend...When do your travels begin?

Well, depending on how you look at it, they've started six days ago, two weeks ago, three months ago, or five years ago! Conversely, I'm starting in four weeks, and in five months from now. I know, this is seemingly contradictory information, but I'll explain it clearly ... in my next blog entry! :-) Okay, now I've talked it up so much, I really have to do it, hehehe.

Now that I have read your Shep-Heard blog, I understand what you mean, my friend. You are free and that's enviable.

Great job! Your post was featured in this week's @the-hearth curation digest featuring stunning earth-centered content on the blockchain.

Very interesting! We were toying g with the idea of listing our tiny house on Air B&B for people who want to experience tiny house living but this might be even better. Plus, as we get our homestead going, I am sure we could use some extra hands. -Aimee

Beautiful! This is quite new, so we can't guarantee results, but we need to start somewhere.😀
