Community Effort - #playingwithbots
Today I got up, responded to a whole lot of messages on msp/palnet discord, ran through my daily update from the @msp-creativebot account (which I noticed I messed up @rhondak's html link on yesterdays post and had to fix, whoops!!). Many apologies for that.
Looking over some of the votes for the day from that account and how amazing and unique each and every one was made me so happy to be doing something to support such efforts.
The hardest thing for me there is trying to quantify the effort spent on each post in order to somehow grade them. If it were up to me I'd be mentioning every single vote for the day, but I don't want to bore people by having a massive long list of votes.
So I click my way randomly on a name that I have not mentioned in a while, get 10 or so pages open, check out each one.
Best part is I never have to worry about making the choice if I vote for it or not, because that's already happened haha.
This is what I like about managing the bot, I can watch its stats, adjust metrics, invite more people, balance all the things and once I get it right it should be almost hands free. This is exciting for me.
Every single user makes an effort to support one another by participating, I love that. I know that each vote from the bot represents a communal effort between each and every member.
Forming a baseline per post as long as they follow the guidelines of the account. Creative and original content and a couple posts per day is not that difficult a guideline to follow.. :)
My favorite thing is finding a minnow that is fairly low in sp and they ask me if they can participate but are concerned they do not have enough because there seems to be a barrier or baseline to gain entry.
Because I believe in fairness, and most users have delegated 100 or SP due to various incentives, I just increase my delegation to make up the difference if they are exceptional posts and worthy of support. In real time seeing someone getting excited about being supported makes me super happy.
Hardest thing is trying to know that person, because in order to judge the submissions to me for support I have to understand the authors effort put into it.
For some creating content can be quite difficult, their time is limited, family commitments, poor access, language difficulties, health and other impairments.
It's my most loved and hated task but I am thankful for it all the same and just try my best to be as fair as possible.
Doesn't stop me from wanting to give everything a 100%.
I really do love my time on here with you. I have to say it's hard to pick a favorite of all things. Curating like crazy on everything I
can manually from this account, to replying and commenting on everything, interacting with everyone on the PALnet discord, it is hard to keep my voting power up and manage the time spent between Steemit and the other server though.
Encouraging and empowering all the people I can and finding the time to balance that with what I'm doing can be tough as well, there is just so much amazing content out there.
So why not, everyone that puts in the effort in the comments below gets a vote back, spread the love and I'm going to go hold a fun little competition on the discord server now, where you have to guess a number for some sbd haha. (it won't be 42). Encourage that interaction as best I can on the human and bot front. All about that balance. Automate the things you can, and do the things you enjoy!
Thanks for taking the time to read over my post for the day, hope you have a wonderful time!
Much respect, loves to you all.
As long as we are sharing good vibes, you have my vote!
Good post, thanks for sharing,
Lovewaves for all the creatives out there. Thanks for everything you do @sammosk
Thanks for running the MSP network! It makes a big difference to minnows like me(and I'm sure a lot of others)
Keep up the good work man! A rising tide lifts all boats :-)
You are really doing amazing things, everyday! And I think part of the fun here is reading, commenting as a part of the community. Gives a bit more personal touch to the vote:) And it's also great to read the answer later on. Thanks for all your efforts and great work, much appreciated!
Yes, I really have a nice time commenting as well, but even that is a struggle to find a balance, there is so much stuff out there and I want to repay the engagement one for one, but it feels like a huge job sometimes. Lets play that game on discord now!! :D
Thank you for all your efforts and great works :)
I love your bot!
Thanks for the Great Works @sammosk
You are a Rockstar Sir. Seriously, you do so much, it's pretty amazing. Keep up the stellar work and keep being you. You are very much loved <3
