Almost every curation guild is a scam

in #community6 years ago (edited)

If you got 50 SP, you shouldn't stay with any of them. Not groups though, but guilds.

After harnessing a lot of bid bot experience and general steemit mechanics insight, I've come to the realization you give a lot more than you get. But who exactly am I talking about? Here is the list of requirements to fit into this category.

  • Demand a 100% upvote if you have below XX SP. You're actually being helped only while you fit into this category.
  • Upvote you for X for every Y upvote you give them and other equivalent methods. It does escalate, but they always get more than they give you.

The above holds true because of how curation rewards work. All they need to do is to get some delegations and they're set. Earlier upvotes will absorb a lot of rewards from later votes. Rich guys getting richer faster. To top it off, these groups often upvote each other and/or get bid bot "promotion".

It's like the biggest circlejerk ever where every minnow is helping them grow further apart from the rest of the community. Centralization of power is bad. Unfortunately even I joined some of their groups at some point. My delegations have recently returned.
