Hello steemians!

2017 was a great run, and by all means, a lot had happened over the past year. A lot of us got involved with cryptocurrency, a lot of us got involved in meetups, movements and promotions for steemit, a lot of us changed several aspect of our lives through the use of cryptocurrency.

With 2018 being around our doorstep, It is only natural that one sets down new year resolutions and goals.
To be honest however, coming from the showbiz and entertainment background, I had long since set my goals and expectation for 2018.

While putting final touches to the plans for the new year, I feel I am at a level where I can comfortably announce and answer questions relating to what is likely going to be, a revolution in the entertainment industry of Africa.

As a wise man once said;

Failing to plan is planning to fail

and that holds true in every sense. With the duty that I, as well as others have been doing for so long since the beginning of our steemit journey, it is only logical, that new ways to onboard different types on individuals be put to action.

Integrating steemit, entertainment and business

So yeah, ladies and gentlemen, this is exactly what I have been planing. For months now, I had been trying to find a way to bridge the gap that I noticed when it comes to steemit.

In the coming months, I(@destinysaid) (@africaunchained), along side 4 companies on the steemit blockchain, @leadent360, @steemit-virus @debrecords, @mediahousent(our long time host and MC) are working towards a campus invasion movement.

Rather than just organizing meet-ups and all that, we are moving towards showcasing what steemit and the steem blockchain is capable of doing.

We are utilizing the steem blockchain in a way that the developers never imagined it to be used. Providing entertainment values.

Providing entertainment service and businesses initiatives to grow via the steem blockchain and cryptocurrencies in general.

In this initiative, we will be going to different campuses across Nigeria and Africa(thanks to the kenyan and ghanian community liasons), where we will be forming partnership with entertainment bodies and businesses in these said campuses to host an event tagged Steemit:The invasion(or any other name we so choose).

These events will happen across the countries at different time dictated by the school calendar.

In these said events, we will have dance sections, music and artist performances, afrolized theatricals, creative exhibitions(where people showcase their creations), food and snack services to keep fans from going hungry. Of cause, anything that can be bought, will have an option to be bought with steem or sbd.

This helps us to onboard artists, musicians, dancers and entertainers who represent the steemit platform.

One aspect I love so much about this is that we will have a clause for working with us, and that would be their be their introduction to the steemit society. We are looking at a situation where we are able to convince these businesses, based on our own success on the platform, as well as our experience here, to come in, see things,utilize the platform for their benefit and go on and form other networks and last but most importantly, invest and power up their accounts!

Another aspect that I love so much is the ''pay with steem'' services that we will be introducing. A pay with steem service is particularly interesting because it is actually only possible with DPOS coins such as steem and EOS thanks to its zero transaction fee and 3 seconds transaction time.

Th entire plan works like in the example report below;

On april 3rd 2018, steemit:the campus invasion held in the university of abuja, Nigeria, powered by a cryptobased website, steemit.com. @africaunchained, a steemit based company, focusing on entertainment, advertisement and politics, partnered with zee entertainment from abuja. The partnership lead to the hosting of an event. In the said event, exhibitions were held,rap battles, music , and dj presentations from different different businesses and ideas were brought forward, all of which where connected to the blockchain via a signup process. Payment for drinks, snacks, items to be sold, were done using steem and SBD. Today, the following companies have a presence on the blockchain; qwe clothing, west music group, runt popcorn & turkey ltd, afrodim theatricals and dance group ltd.

As the year unfolds, more and more details will be unveiled, along with the roadmap for the events, and other details about the ''pay with steem'' system of transaction.

Why go for entertainment and services?

Think about it, the world over, who doesn't listen to at least 1 or another form of entertainment related material per day?

Even in the office, a time comes when a tune or melody plays. Our phones are wired with music players, our ringtones are mostly popular songs that are in vogue.

Truthfully, I expected steem to be in the high heavens by now.

I mean, where are the steemit comedians? the steemit music producers? the steemit musicians? the movie makers? the youtubers? entertainment providers? the viners? the dancers?

Granted, music has seen a lot of support thanks to @luzipher and @pfunk, and I am proud and happy to see a lot of music oriented people in this platform, but music alone doesn't make up entertainment

Where are the steemit sponsored football matches? the steemit tennis matches? where is the steemit football club? heck, where are the steemit bars and clubs?!

I read somewhere about how steemit and cryptocurrency was capable of changing the world as we know it, steemit could evolve beyond just a website. It could evolve to a whole network of industries connected by one thing, the steem blockchain.

SMTs ought to be given the award for ''innovation of the century'' with it, we will be able to connect total industries, total companies towards the steemit blockchain, and I dream of a future where if you aret connected, your company is likely going to die out.

For any entity to grow however in today's world, entertainment and advertisement must be attached to it.

companies like ford, best buy, amazon, microsoft, apple routinely support/sponsor/host entertainment events

It is my dream, goal, and vision that great home-brewed entertainment companies, based on cryptos spring out from steemit.

I support steemcamp 2018, these are the sort of things that should be happening on steemit right now.

Let the movement begin, lets steemon, lets bring entertainment to the steemit ecosystem and become a complete society.

The steemit in nigeria movement was a very awesome one, we were able to pull of what is likely, one of the top 3 steemit based event in the world. In 2018, expect more collaborations as we will be bringing about an explosive SIN event.

Next year 2018, we are moving on the orad,in what is going to be a never before seen movement entertainment aimed revolution in nigeria and africa via the steem blockchain.

The Steem blockchain turns the attention economy around, sending the rewards for creating great content to participants instead of infrastructure mediators like Facebook and Reddit. Taking Steem to the world will be no easy task; It's success depends directly on the number of network participants and its feedback loop.
