EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

A person’s ability to communicate is very important in all areas of life, business. Having good communication skills is required by owners of businesses or organizations recruiting and promoting individuals. A successful applicant should have good communication skills both oral and written. The ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with others is tagged by many business owners as a top attribute of a successful business man or woman.

WHAT IS COMMUNICATION?

Oxford dictionary defined communication as the activity or process of expressing ideas and feelings/ giving people information.

CHALLENGES OF COMMUNICATION

The pattern we communicate within and outside the country determine everything we can accomplish.

CREATING THE RIGHT ATTITUDE:

They say that customers are always right, which is true in a way. Your attitude when dealing with your customers, clients and the public reflects on the business or company you represent. Thus a good approach is to send a personalized, helpful messages sensitive to the reader’s/ customer’s point of view.

FLEXIBILITY:

The work place is diverse in age, gender, and national origin. Diversity has brought problems to the organizations, but it has also brought strength. Today’s employers and employees need to be flexible in the way they deal with others, problems can be avoided by keeping an open mind and being willing to make extra efforts in communication. Effective communication in organizations with a multi-national workforce takes flexibility and an awareness of the important components of language use. Also all channels of communication need to be kept open.

In our relationship, effective communication is very necessary for it to grow both with God and mankind. Communication is one of the key tools used in a relationship to enable it move forward.

EFFECTS OF LACK OF EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IN A RELATIONSHIP

• Lack of Trust

• Always being suspicious of your partner

• Drawing conclusions on things that are not true or there.

• It brings disunity

• Lack of Honesty

• Being Misled and so on

Even God too wants to have effective communication with his children, He wants to have a personal relationship with his children. He wants to be part of everything that happens in your life. He wants us to tell Him what goes on in our lives and ASK Him what we want. Even though, he sees and knows all things, He is omniscience, omnipresent, omnipotent God.

So in conclusion, effective communication is very necessary in all aspects of our lives whether in the organization or with our relationship with individuals. it is of utmost importance that we develop good communication skill.
