Authenticating your Certificate of Live Birth
Order a certified copy of your Certificate of Live Birth (long form of birth certificate) from VitalChek.com, or a certified copy of your Naturalization certificate.
If you got your CoLB, mail it to the secretary of state for the state that YOU WERE BORN IN, asking them to AUTHENTICATE (not apostille) your Certificate of Live Birth, for a NON-HAGUE member country. You can choose any country on that list. I picked Taiwan. Make sure you see the list of countries that are not signatories to the Hague convention.
If you got your naturalization certificate, proceed to step 3.
When you get your CoLB and (attached) Authentication certificate back from your birth state Secretary of State, or you have a certified copy of your Naturalization certificate, mail it to the U.S. department of State authentications office to have it authenticated for a NON-HAGUE member country. Again, I picked Taiwan. It needs to be the same country you picked if/when you got your CoLB authenticated with your birth state SoS.
When you get your CoLB (& attached state authenticated certificate) or Naturalization certificate, back form the U.S. department of State, another certificate will be ANNEXED to your document(s) which says, "To all to whom these presents shall come, Greetings."
DO NOT REMOVE. PUT IN PROTECTIVE PLASTIC COVER.
- This is the deed to the registered organization birthed shortly after you were born. You need to now draft a NOTICE OF ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND ACCEPTANCE OF DEED to become to holder and holder in due course, and include copies of the originals as an exhibit in a declaration of status, which you will RECORD with any county of your choosing.
