Pedophilia as Part of LGBT? Not a New Suggestion
I caught wind of people pushing "P" for "Pedosexual" being added to LGBT. Needless to say, this is quite a controversial thing to discuss. I have never seen any LGBT groups accept pedophilia, nor have I met any individuals who supported accepting pedophilia as an orientation rather than an illness. However, the practice of lumping pedophiles and LGBT people together is nothing new.
It is a common claim for anti-LGBT groups that LGBT (a) is connected to pedophilia although little to no evidence suggests that they are connected in a way that suggests an inherent link between the two and/or (2) will eventually become so permissive that it will eventually accept pedophilia. Not only that, the only times I've seen people accept pedophilia (not just people struggling with the illness accepting help) were when certain YouTubers started crawling out of the woodwork, when I encountered (and helped to expose) a pedophile on Tumblr and when a certain Virginian congressional candidate published a rather infamous manifesto.
It is not surprising that 4chan created a similar hoax called "clovergender" which is similar to how someone might call themselves transage. In clovergender, an adult believes that they are a child trapped in an adult body and is attracted to children. Unlike the MOGAI ridiculousness that @kaliyuga normally writes about, even MOGAI won't touch clovergender due to the nature of what it implies. I do support people who struggle with pedophilic urges taking measures such as avoiding children and taking certain medications that lower one's sex drive, but will always see pedophilia as an illness rather than an orientation.
The pedophilia discussed here isn't the high school senior/high school freshman relationship or an adult relationship with an age gap. It's straight-up adults having sex with young kids. Granted, there are specific age range attractions like hebephilia, which is an attraction to early adolescents in particular and the waters get a little murkier with ephebophilia, which is an attraction to someone who's probably 16-18 years old. However, when it comes to blatant pedophilia, the vast majority of people have the same views on it.
LGBTP, clovergender, and similar 4chan-style hoaxes have all failed to undo the progress that the LGBT movement has made so far. This indicates that the logic behind recognizing pedophilia as an orientation is a part of some convoluted conspiracy theory against LGBT rather than something that would actually hold water. Considering what I was taught at a quite religious school, these actions do not surprise me and will continue to be a part of anti-LGBT rhetoric for years to come.

Those attempts for discredit LGBT movements show the despair of anti-LGBT groups.
Sex must be always based in informed and free consent of all the parts involved. That consent can only be given by a mature adult, children and animals cannot give their consent.
Maturity it is not just a matter of age, but an age limit is much easier to implement.
In 2015, in my country (Spain) sexual consent age was raised from 13 to 16 years.
Shit's dumb as hell. The fact anyone actually believes the propaganda is very scary, too. I've seen plenty of people go like "oh that makes sense, buncha querz" in response to these smear campaigns and that's the real scary part of it all. People still genuinely feel that being Queer is one small step away from sexually assaulting children.

Have you been following the MAP (minor-attracted person) and NOMAP (no-contact Minor Attracted Person) pride nonsense on tumblr? They've made themselves a pride flag and are really gunning for validation by MOGAI, which (by-and-large) will not touch them.
It's one of the rare instances of MOGAI engaging their collective brains and thinking "wait, this is disgusting and not okay."
You know it's bad when MOGAI won't validate it.
If you compare the history of religious, legal, and moral proscription of gay sex versus the proscription of pedophilic sex, they very much have moved in opposite directions. Anti-pedophile legislation and sentiment is very much a creation of the post-industrial era; a very recent thing in the span of history. A century ago, sodomy could get you jailed or worse, while a twenty- or thirty-something man marrying a fourteen-year-old girl was perfectly normal, and get started on the kids, you two!
Thus, so long as this trend in societal attitudes continues, it's normal that the LGBT community would look down on pedophiles (in the broadest sense of the word; I can't keep track of which words correspond to which age ranges and that nonsense) and not let them come along for the ride of social acceptance. On the other hand, I think it's also… is "unfair" the right word? to some of these people that they are stigmatized for what was, until recently, completely normal behavior, and thus probably still ingrained in the human consciousness to a certain extent. Certainly having consensual sex with a, shall we say, developed teenager should not warrant the same sort of prison sentences and databases we impose on outright rapists and molesters of pre-pubescent children.
(Dear law enforcement: I am not a pedophile and have never committed statutory rape. Go bother someone else.)
Ephebophilia is where the waters do get murky, particularly if the involved parties knew each other in school and don't have much of an age gap. However, an older adult and a teen is still a no for me.
