Comic Book Original Art Collection: Venom #164 pgs. 3 & 17, by Mark Bagley
For ages, my mission was to find Venom OA drawn by Mark Bagley, the artist for Venom’s first-ever solo series Lethal Protector (on which the upcoming movie is partly based). Not a Venom page without Venom. Not a Venom page with just Eddie Brock.
Mission completed thanks to Bagley taking up the Venom mantle again from time to time. The first page gets more love on my CAF site, but the second also tickles me because Venom shows off camouflage, engages in combat, and prances about like a big symbiotic gazelle. Woo!
Now a real treat... I tracked down the OA to a special piece on CAF. This would be a holy grail except that the actual Holy Grail is probably more attainable. Enjoy:

Wow, what a crazy nab for that owner.
I always liked Marks work, and that second page has all the reasons why. And yeah, that camouflaged effect...that is super hard to pull off even with a decent colorist. Yet even just the black and whites here get the point across brilliantly.
