Out Drinking The Irish As An American
So many of us tend to try new things. This is a great thing! However, we need to be self-aware of what our strengths and weaknesses are. This allows us to find focus and direction to apply to our daily choices.
On a recent trip to Ireland my wife and I attended an Irish wedding. Rather than just attend, I decided to challenge myself and go head to head with an Irish woman and see if I could out drink than Irish. I am a southern boy from the common wealth of KY who's drink of choice is bourbon. As a matter of fact I have at least one glass a night, sometimes more. However, I learned a tough lesson about mixing drinks and going head to head for the sake of entertainment. Yes it was fun until the next day but boy did I do it all wrong.
However, I learned a lesson on staying in your lane. Do what you know you're good at and focus on that if you want to succeed.
A huge thank you to TARA, KATIE, EDEL, DAMIEN, SHANE and my new Irish family for letting an American crash your wedding!
