Self Defense Situation - What Do You Do? - Part 19: Defending Against A Gun Threat In The Elevator and Choke

in #combat5 years ago (edited)

Welcome back to Self Defense Situation - What Do You Do? - Part 19. In this series of posts, we analyze different situations and talk about what you can do to defend yourself in that situation. If you plan to do something or use certain moves against attack, it might not always work. So you can have a strategy to fight for self defense, not a plan like you will do A, B, and C.

Every situation is different, and the attacker might have different skills. He can be taller than you or stronger than you. Or, maybe he is not stronger than you, but he has a gun. And when someone has a weapon, it is better not to do something silly. Otherwise, you will regret it later. For example, if the attacker has a knife, you should not do Silly Moves Against A Knife Attack.

If you read some of my previous posts in this series, you know I am talking about different situations from the same video. Yes, there are many self defense situations in that video. Hope this is the last post of this video. This series of posts will be continued. Please let me know if you like my posts. Your comment, upvote - everything is feedback. And I appreciate your support and feedback.

Let's watch this video. I am also going to mention the time what I will talk about.

From 4:13 to 4:22 Minutes

A girl gets in the elevator, and the attacker also follows her. In the elevator, no one is there except the girl and the attacker. This could happen in real life. I have made a post recently where I shared a real-life video. The girl was busy with her phone and the guy got close to her. And then.... okay, here's the link.

How To Defend Yourself Against Attack In The Elevator - Women's Self Defense

In this video, you see the attacker holds the gun. The girl first grabs his hand and move out of the line of fire. That's very important. If you try to do something to defend yourself and you are in the line of fire, the attacker can shoot you. She not only grabs his hand but also attacks him, and the guy falls on the ground.

The only thing that you do not like to do is to let the guy go when he has a gun, or you move away, the guy is on the ground, and he still has the gun. He might be injured, but he can still pull the trigger. You can take his gun away, call the security in the shopping mall or call the police.

From 4:23 to 4:41 Minutes

If someone chokes you and you are standing against the wall. This puts you in a more vulnerable position. In the video, we see that the girl is standing against the wall, and the guy chokes her. So she cannot move back because there is a wall. When you are in a situation like this, first of all, make sure you can breathe.

When you practice with your training partner, it works, and you think it will work in real life. The fact is, your partner grabs your throat tight but does not put pressure on your throat. But the attacker will do that. So lower your chin and make it tight. Now you can still breathe.

You can grab the attacker's thumb and pull it outside. Or, you can grab the attacker's little finger, apply pressure and pull it outside. He will not be able to grab your throat anymore. You can counter-attack right away and get out of there.
