Color Challenge Monday Red Wall of Splendour

Schloss Charlottenburg, Berlin Germany

The palace was built at the end of the 17th century and was wonderfully expanded during the 18th century. The vast rooms are lavishly decoration in baroque and rococo style. The original palace was commissioned by Sophie Charlotte, the wife of Friedrich III. On her heath in 1705 Friedrich name the palace and estate in her memory.

The photographs is from one of the room in the original wings where Sophie Charlotte would have spent her time. Rooms that are magnificent, abundant and to excess.
