The greenest lake you've ever seen! New Zealand is a country full of magnificent natural beauty!
Everywhere you turn, every place your eyes touch, there is an incredible photo beckoning to be taken. It's a photographer's dreamland. Unfortunately, I am not a professional but I do have a pretty great Canon and luckily, nature does most of the work for me!
It's necessary to have multiple extra batteries on hand at all times traveling in NZ, otherwise it's an actual tragedy when the moments pass by, (with no chance to post on Steemit.)
We had a saying while we were there "save it to memory" but I happen to quite like the digital versions! I have 100's (if not 1000's) of photos from my journey there. I saved this set, as it was one of my favorite experiences but I am thrilled to share with you here now!
See behind me, there is a natural green lake!
It's located just outside of Rotorua, the town we ended up spending my birthday in last year! I mention that because, this was a treat to myself... usually I prefer beaches and bikinis but close enough to this water can be pretty toasty as well ;)
The problem was, there was a barrier in the way and I just wanted to get a closer look...
I figured wth, it was my birthday if anyone wanted to make a fuss about it!
🎵 I made it through the wilderness... somehow I made it through 🎵
Can you believe the color of this water?
I snapped so many shots of this river, every angle and direction imaginable! Oops... almost fell in more than once! A kissing couple showed up and started pointing and staring at me huddled down at the edge of the water, trying to capture the unbelievable color!
After hours lost in the beauty of this remarkable gift from Mother Earth, I figured I had taken enough pictures and said farewell to the lucky pool of water. If you ever get a chance to visit, I would strongly recommend going! (Take every photo-taking device you have with you!)
Nature is so magnificent! It offers us an opportunity to open up to the Earth and reconnect to all that is around us. I love ThursdayGreen because green is life, it's our heart chakra, it's such a powerful, loving color filled with positive healing power! I hope my green today gives you a happy feeling in your heart and I wish you a wonderful day!

Oh it definitely does, it's so calm and peaceful with barely anyone around! I really wanted to drink the water to see what would happen ;)

I don't know either! Everyone was talking about the green lake and I just thought it would be kind of green, not this green! It's beautiful, makes me feel like mermaids must live there ;) 💙

Breathtaking photos!! Do you know what type of fish are in that green lake? Wondering if the green of the lake makes a difference in the type of fish that are in there? So pretty and peaceful looking :) I look forward to seeing many more of the photo you took while you visited there..SUNSHINE247
Hi sunshine! I'm not sure to be honest! There wasn't any information that I know of! I kind of had the feeling that it might not have life in it because it was so weird. Maybe some mermaids and dragons ;)
It was definitely peaceful though, quiet and beautiful! I'll keep posting :)

NZ is def on our to travel list! So many places to see and visit! Why are days only 24h dammit hehe. Stunning pics as always ;)
I know haha it seems like that is just too short or something! Plus NZ is super far away from everything! It takes even longer than normal to get there! I have to (get to) go back in October, tell me everything you want to see and we'll Skype ;)

Well, I guess! It's kind of hard to do everything in one go, isn't it? ;)
It is! Wish I could go on longer trips and be a real digital nomad, but our cat doesn't appreciate it if we go longer than 4 weeks ;)
4 weeks! Well maybe I should have cats opposed to dogs. My rescue pups were supposed to be temporary since I am always on the move but I think they might have picked up full time positions and that might infringe on my travel plans ;)

That's what they do! Luckily one of our best friends from Belgium is moving to Cambodia too in a few months. He knows Chivas from when she was just a small kitten... so having him at the house will enable us to take longer trips.
