Nice! I love lavender, the smell is so soothing. Have you tried using a reversing ring instead? They tend to run between $10 - $20. What they do is allow you to put a lens on your camera backwards. Its a similar idea to looking the wrong way through binoculars, but with lenses it makes everything super close.
Its a very cheap way to do macro :)
