There is so much else you can do with what you have, though. When i travel these days, I tend to travel light, and have been known just to carry my 50mm 1.4 lens. It is very versatile. Besides, having just one lens on hand forces you to look at things differently!
I think I may pack a bit more for my trip to Scotland this year, as I'm stopping over in Iceland and doing a Northern Lights tour. I may or may not see them, but I'll enjoy the experience anyway. I saw them in Scotland last year, but they were not at their best and I did not have the right lens with me anyway!
Thanks I think this was taken when I was using Pentax and had a macro lens I haven't got round to getting one with my sony kit yet

Yes I do the same the 50 is such a handy lens but often on weekends I will just pick a lens and head for a walk to see what I find
