Collections and Legacies

in #collections6 years ago

As a child, I collected a lot of random things. One of the collections I had was a sizeable stuffed animal collection. Not "real" stuffed animals that once lived, but the fictional kinds that related to popular culture idols of the times. Thankfully I never got into the Beanie Baby collections (eBay prices were Brutal!).

My collections we're of various animals; and in this case, Simba from The Lion King. Long before there was any hint of Lion King sequels, or even cartoons, I had my Simba (and Nala). Of course, the "baby" versions were much more appropriate (and cuddly).

I honestly don't know if these two little animals are worth something to (one of the many Disney) collectors, but I don't think that I would sell them. As these are one of the few items that I've saved since childhood, they obviously have some sentimental value to me. And now that I have children of my own, it brings me so much joy to pass them on to my son. Especially when I see the joy that they bring him (he's really into animals that say "Roar!")!

Do you have any random collections or items that you've passed down to your children? Share in the comments!
