I love the Nike of Samothrace, it is such a powerful presence, perhaps more so because it lacks all original features. It's cool to think of this statue once being on the prow of a warship - incredible! Probably painted in bright colours too (the ancient Greeks loved to use colour on their statues and architecture). I think you have made an interesting response to it, and it works well using arms to emulate the wings.
