Hey folks,
today I want to introduce to you the 10 penny coin from Heildelberg, Germany.
This coin is an emergency coin.
Emergency coins are coins issued in times of need by the mints entitled to issue coins or, in the event of a shortage of circulation coins, even by cities or private persons not otherwise entitled to issue coins. Emergency coins are a form of emergency money.
It has been a standard circulation coin in 1919-1920 and is made of iron. The weight is 3.34g and the diameter is 21.0 mm. The shape is round like most coins. The Edge is plain. Since the currency became invalid, the coin had to be perforated.
