The legend behind coffee drink

No one knows exactly how or when coffee was discovered, though there are many legends about its origin, but today I would like to share the strongest, accepted and also the most I like of the legends about the discovery of coffee and coffee drink.

It is the one that refers to an Ethiopian shepherd named Kaldi. Legend says that Kaldi realized the strange behavior of his goats after they had eaten the fruit and the leaves of a certain bush. The goats were jumping around very excited and full of energy. The shrub Kaldi thought his goats had eaten had fruits like cherry-like fruits. Then Kaldi decided to try the leaves of the bush and a while later he was full of energy.

Kaldi then brought some fruit and branches of that shrub to a monastery. There he told the Abbot the history of the goats and how he had felt after eating the leaves. The Abbot decided to cook the branches and the cherries; The result was a very bitter drink that he threw immediately into the fire. When the cherries fell in the fathoms they began to boil, the green peas inside them produced a delicious aroma that made the Abbot think of making a drink based on the roasted coffee, and this is how the coffee drink was born, to indulge our palates.
