My relationship with coffeesteemCreated with Sketch.

The other day, my friend @smartbean encouraged me to create and share my coffee art on Steemit. I went through some of my coffee bean art pieces and decided that I am going to start sharing them with you - Hope you would like them!

Above is one of my favourite pieces of coffee bean art and can you tell I really love coffee?

Come think about it, coffee was not always a part of my life though. Growing up in Asia, I didn’t know anyone who drink coffee. It’s when I started university in Canada that my roommates introduced me to coffee.

At the apartment we shared, we had a coffee machine and I just loved hearing that sound coming from the coffee making machine every morning - I was fascinated by the water bubbling up into the glass top when the coffee was ‘brewing’.

I also remember going to Zehrs with my roommates and wanting to be the one to pour the beans into the grounding machine - that intoxicating smell as I filled the bag with freshly ground coffee was such a great memory.

I bought my first coffee machine and coffee bean grinder when I moved to Toronto to start my career. I often made my morning coffee at home before leaving for work in the am. There is no doubt that coffee has become an important part of my life.

Above is a photo I took at Nuit Blanche outside Toronto's City Hall.

Writing this coffee post is like taking a trip down the memory lane - all these memories are all so special to me. Coffee has touched me in a way that’s beyond words could describe! The time I used to study with my roommates with coffee by our side, the time I met new friends at coffee shops, the time I went out for coffee dates, the time I wanted to be alone with my beloved coffee, or now my husband getting me coffee whenever I ask for one.

It’s like coffee was there for my entire adult life - watching me grew up from an awkward young girl who didn’t speak much English and afraid of everything at university to a full grown matured independent woman. I am so grateful that coffee was always there for me be it thick and thin.

My relationship with coffee is so solid and still going strong and I love my coffee almost as much as I love my husband, lol.

this is a lovely post. so authentic and honest. thank you for the mention and good job on your coffee bean art. please keep them coming.

Thank you for the encouragement!

Sorry cafe. I can just hear the canerdians saying "sooowree". Classic.

Last year we were shooting a hollywood director's house and his wife had worked in Vancouver. She heard me say sowree and said "You're canadian!" I've lived more than half my life in the US, haven't been there for years, and still they know. Is it a scar or badge of honour?

Love that first photo. That you half filled the cup is so not American. :)

LOL - great story, love it!

I'm with you on having a strong and everlasting bond with coffee. I didn't have my first coffee until a lab meeting in grad school, and there was no turning back. Now, my morning coffee is something I look forward to, from the smell, the process, the routine, the warmth (or cold), and everything to do with it, I LOVE COFFEE. Right on girl!

Haha - you and I both had our first coffee while at school. I love it! My dream one day is to open up a coding cafe where parents could drink coffee and kids learn how to code or to learn latest tech! One day...

Woah that's an awesome idea! Maybe the parents could learn to code too (coffee in hand!)

I see that coffee matters to you, but to me it is the drink of the gods because I have never tasted anything so good in my life. I think you will find a lot of interesting tips at https://www.coffee-statistics.com/. This source helps me find a lot of information regarding coffee which I like. I love drinking coffee, especially in the morning, it helps me be more productive.

I am a barista. At first it was my hobby, but now I've decided to do it professionally. Having opened my own small coffee shop, I buy only quality products to make the most delicious coffee. When I tried Coffee capsules in Canada, I was surprised by the variety of flavors. Everyone who knows the taste of real coffee should try this coffee.
