Turkish Coffee
The Turkish coffee is not the name of a coffee bean but the name of how the coffee is cooked. A lot of Turkish families like to drink it when they want to enjoy a relaxing time at home or outside. The coffee is similar as an espresso. But probably more strong. It takes some time to make it ready but afterwards you enjoy the taste!
Here is a quick guide about how to make Turkish coffee.
Turkish coffee is cooked in an ibrik.
For those who don't have an ibrik, you can make your coffee in a little pot.
How to make Turkish coffee?
What do we need?
- Coffee pot (ibrik)
- Sugar
- Coffee that is ground to fine powder
- Cups
- Water
- Heat source
Let's begin
#STEP1
Measure your water
You take your cup and fill it with water. Afterwards, you can put the water in the ibrik. If you want to make coffee for two people or more, you do the same for each cup. For one cup, you put one time a cup water in the ibrik. For, let's say three cups, you put three times a cup water in the ibrik. This is to use water only as much as you need.
#STEP2
Add coffee
So, at the moment there is only water in de ibrik. Now, you take your coffee powder and per cup you do a full teaspoon coffee in the water. This means if only one person will drink coffee, you just do one full teaspoon coffee in the water. If three persons will drink, you will put three full teaspoons coffee in the water.
#STEP3
Add sugar
You do the same for the sugar. For each cup you use one teaspoon sugar and add it in your ibrik. Actually how much sugar you want to add is depending on you. Some people drink it without sugar.
#STEP4
Place the ibrik on the heat source
#STEP5
Allow coffee and sugar to dissolve
#STEP6
Stir
Stir slowly the coffee.
#STEP7
Allow coffee to rise
Allow coffee to rise but take care that it stays in the ibrik.
#STEP8
Pour into cups
Pour into cups, let the coffee settle, and enjoy!
Enjoy yout Turkish coffee!
