A Poem
Waking up to the sun's rays on my face,
I squint my eyes to further gaze;
Such beauty no one else can hold,
In my heart I only feel cold.
This emptiness that settles in,
Came like a hurricane knocking me in;
Leaving me like a crumpled piece of paper,
Nowhere to cry, nowhere to scamper.
Counting the minutes where I can finally have a sight,
The answer to that horrible sleepless night;
Faking it so the struggle can't be seen,
Wondering silently, "What could have been?".
The liveliness of the people around me radiates,
I try to match but soon evaporates;
There's only one thing in my heart that I truly seek,
Your taste, your touch, that can make me weak.
The thought of you lingers like a guarantee,
No matter I do you'll always agree;
So I stood up and made myself a cup worthwhile,
I sipped, and sigh, and a genuine smile. :)
