Hi @smade.
I would suggest javascript for frontend web development (and it can be used on the backend too - ie nodeJs) or Java to develop Android apps. The latter might be more difficult. You can build hybrid apps with javascript too though.

I'm currently learning XML in Android studio, Udacity has a course which I have learned a lot from. Do you still suggest switching to Java? To your point, I'm making an app and it needs to work on iPhone to, so I guess I can't be using Android studio.
Well XML is not a programming language, it's a markup language. I would suggest Javascript. You can code on the frontend (UI), backend (eg. nodeJs) and mobile apps (eg. React Native, PhoneGap).
