she has started on course 2 at https://code.org/ which is kinda cool, it has a gui for doing commands, loops etc, put then you can show what that is in javascript - the main point is that they learn the concept of logic and procedures first then the code...so not distracted by all the curly braces and syntax...i'm impressed with the way she is progressing...and above all enjoying it
as for next steps, probably either settle on java script and html5

or just java as it seems to be the most dominant in the job market where we are
