To celebrate my marriage anniversary, we had a trip to Snowdonia, the second largest national park in the UK.

为了庆祝和媳妇 @leir 的结婚结婚纪念日，全家去威尔士Snowdonia国家公园度假，下面和大家分享这次游记。

As suggested by our Hotel host Paul, we set off from Llandudno via Betws-y-Coed.

根据酒店房东Paul的建议，临时改变了路线，改由途经风景非常好的Betws-y-Coed绕道去Snowdon。Betws-y-Coed贝兹考德位于雪敦山国家公园东侧，是重要登山口和旅游胜地。

We had a short break in Swallow Fall - have no idea why it is called Swallow Fall. Here is the explanation from WIKI：“It is thought that the English name arose from a mis-hearing of the Welsh word ewynnol (foaming) as the similar-sounding y wennol (swallow).”

这是途经的燕子瀑布（Swallow Fall）。不是很明白为什么叫做燕子瀑布。于是查了一下WIKI，才知到原来是以讹传讹啊，原来威尔士语中的ewynnol (对应英语中的foaming) 被误听做了wennol (也就是swallow，燕子)，因此才被叫做燕子瀑布。这个瀑布在周边算是最大的了。可以和世界范围内那些有名瀑布一比的话，这个可能就太小儿科了。

Upon arrival, we visited National Slate Museum。

到达后我们首先参观了著名的板岩博物馆。

The slate industry has been very important in Wales history.
板岩工业在威尔士的历史中非常重要。板岩可以说是威尔士这里的一个特色，它塑造了威尔士这里独特的地貌，也造就了这里独特的历史。

In Slate Museum, you can see the works’ hard life in early years.
在威尔士板岩博物馆中，可以体验早期工匠们和他们家庭的艰辛生活。博物馆内的很多机器仍旧保留着其原始状态。

Right, after visiting Slate Museum, it’s time for the mountain train! According to railways’s website, it has been 1.2 million people has ridden the mountain train.
由于家中有两个小孩，还有个“没长腿”的小公主，自己登山不太现实，登顶的火车自然是唯一选择。票价真心贵！一家人将近100英镑！如果订那个蒸汽火车的话会更贵。据说从1896年开始，共有1200万人成做过这里的小火车。小火车往返共两个小时，在峰顶停留半个小时的时间。

可以看到小火车的轨道也是非常特殊，中间有带锯齿的轨道，想来是给小火车借力登上的吧。

It is very foggy since halfway of the journey.
火车单程近一小时的车程过半后，我们发现山顶云雾缭绕，当时心就凉了！果然，火车快登顶的时候，已经是在云雾中行驶了！儿子说我们在天上了！到达海拔一千多米的山顶后，能见度极低，风极大，气温极低，别说欣赏美景了，简直就是上了“诛仙台”。

在1000多米的山顶上还有骑行者的自行车，不得不说，自行车运动的确是英国人的真爱。。。

俩娃刚下火车不适应这样严酷的天气，情绪都不太好。过了一会儿竟然兴高采烈地爬楼梯登上了雪敦山的最高点(雪敦山是英格兰和威尔士最高山)。

Back to the ground, we went to Lawton’s Cafe Grill, which is the top 1 restaurant by reviewers in Tripadvisor. I have to say, the restaurant definitely deserves that ranking!
事先订了一家在TripAdvisor上评价非常高的餐厅。吃过后不得不说，他家菜的味道和餐厅的服务我都给满分。这家小餐厅长期位于TripAdvisor排名第一果然是有道理的。

We order a chicken liver paste as starter, super nice!
点了一道Starter，是鸡肝酱配面包，超级好吃

My wife ordered lamb shank as the main course
老婆点的这里的著名盐沼羊腿，肉炖的非常软，也非常入味。孩子们都能咬动。

I ordered the steak burger, which is the best burger I had in my life!
我点的的加量的Steak Burger，可以说这是我吃过最美味的牛肉Burger。里面的肉质鲜嫩多汁，配有的洋葱和其他调味品更加重了肉的鲜味，而且不像有的Burger里面的肉都有点糊了，如果满分十分，我给十一分，额外的一分是因为它的好吃程度超过了我的预期。。。

My children had fish & chips and spaghetti bolognese
孩子们要的是Fish & Chips和意大利面，女儿没吃完的意大利面我也尝了尝，感觉味道非常独特，配套酱汁香味浓郁，面也非常软，同样也是完胜以前吃过的所有意面。难怪小女儿几乎全都吃完。

Snowdon larger is a must try here
到了这里自然要尝一尝当地啤酒：Snowdon larger。这个啤酒感觉就没有太多特色了，味道不错，略苦。但到了这里，自然要喝本地啤酒了。

It’s a bit shame that we didn’t have a clear view from Snowdon summit, apart from that, it’s a perfect trip and we definitely will come back!
整个行程虽然因为山顶有雾不能看清远处景色，有些小遗憾。但整体感觉非常棒，下次一定再来！
