This is my last post for the road trip in Aug 2017 at Alberta, Canada. Thanks for @someone helped me share the other two post during this road trip, please check the post Banff national park and Canadian Glacier if you are interested. In this post, I will introduce a very beautiful national park Waterton Lakes National Park and the China town of city Calgary.
Driving took a large portion of the trip, luckily it was the part I enjoyed a lot. During driving, people can witness the change of the location, view and the weather, I feel a little amazed in the process.
There are a lot of windmills on the road, looks like the region have a strong wind.
The road on the flat lands, sometimes bent and sometimes straight, feels like an endless road to a wonderful place.
All the way to the south, the view changed already, feels like from a cold region to a warm region.
Entered the mountain which is close to our destination.
The river beside the Waterton town, looks very beautiful and feels summer.
A panoramic view of the river wand the town and the super clear water.
We had a wonderful lunch at one restaurant beside the river.
My cool mom and naughty son.
The amount of food was more than I expected.
This is the most relax day during my whole trip, we do not have a schedule to catch anymore, have a meal slowly in the beautiful town and watch kid play. Finally, I feels like an vocation.
Very beautiful mountain and river, my father was very happy this time too.
The next day, went to Calgary, get a feeling of big city, lol
I came to Calgary several times before, my favorite part of the city is the downtown that is close to the bow river and China town.
Here, China town is not the a little messy place that on the edge of the city, with only small restaurant and Chinese stores. There is a lot of associations and places to introduce our Chinese culture.
The inside of Calgary Chinese culture center.
Some introduction of Lao tzu, Confucius and Shakyamuni.
Some other posters for Chinese related classes.
This center was donated by Dr. Henry Fok and some other generous people, it means a lot for spread Chinese culture in a foreign country.
At last, there is a park that donated by Chinese immigrants as well, the location and view of the park is very good and a lot of people come here exercises and relax. The city was build by immigrants as well as local people, hopefully all of them can be remembered.
Went back.

I live in Calgary and travel south quite a bit. I really enjoyed seeing our province and home through the eyes of a visitor from China. We all thank-you for your kind words and are glad your enjoyed your visit. Thank-you for sharing your wonderful photos as well.
It is very windy in the south and as you saw we have many windmills for power generation. Alberta has a large investment in wind power now and for the future.
Thank you for your support and glad to know that the Alberta has a large investment on the "clean energy", it looks like the oilsand can not support Alberta forever. I come to Canada six years ago, finished my degree in Edmonton and now working in the same city. Been to Calgary several times and love it very much. Hopefully I can have a chance to work in Calgary in the future.
Yes, the end of petroleum for fuel is definitely in the cards, but still much needed for plastics and other non-fuel purposes. It will still be a challenge for all of us, but new opportunities too.
I grew up in Edmonton, but left in 1990. I lived in Banff for five years working in IT and moved to Calgary in 1996.
IT is a very hot and promsing major to work in. To damage the oil and gas industry in Alberta, people do not need to not use oil at all, 1% less demonding or crude oil below 40 usd again, would damage Alberta hard enough again. You should saw a lot of what happened in these three years here. I am working in this industry and really worried when think deeply. lol.
