Great news for my followers: higher payouts & updated rules in the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge!
Hello fellow Steemians,
Those of you who have been following me long enough are aware of my daily photo challenge where I ask you to share your personal pictures you took during your travels to Prague or any other location in the Czech Republic. The challenge is becoming quite popular among the users as your participation gets rewarded with my upvote while inspiring others to visit my home country, the Czech Republic.
Next to the Prague/Czech Republic challenge, however, I host another photo contest known as the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – chance for a yearly winner to bank around 200 SBD in total!
I decided to organize this contest to enable more Steemians to participate as not everyone has been to the Czech Republic yet. Just like the Prague/Czech Republic photo challenge, the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – chance for a yearly winner to bank around 200 SBD in total! is also held every day, covering each continent on one day of the week, according to the following schedule:
• Sunday - Asia
• Monday - Australia + New Zealand
• Tuesday – Antarctica + the world’s oceans
• Wednesday - Africa
• Thursday - Europe
• Friday - North America
• Saturday - South America

The rules for this photo challenge are simple. All you have to do to participate in the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – chance for a yearly winner to bank around 200 SBD in total! is to:
- submit your personal photo that you took during your travels in the continent of the day
- add a short description of your photo (between 30 to 50 words)
- resteem the post with the photo challenge upon the submission of your entry
I will then upvote the best 10 entries of the day and select one absolute winner of the day. I will write a post the next day featuring the winning picture and the photo description to bring the winning Steemian some publicity. At the same time, I will also visit the winner´s personal blog and upvote his most recent post.
The winner of the daily challenge will then automatically qualify for the weekly 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge that runs from Sunday to Saturday with winner being announced on Sunday. The winner will be selected based on your votes from my post.
Good news for all contributors – increase in payouts!
As the Steemit platform has been constantly growing and to attract new talented contributors, we decided to increase the payouts!
The winner with the highest dollar amount of upvotes in the 7-day period will now receive 20 SBD from me which will be done after 14 days of the first post as that will be the difference in days between first and last post being closed.
The winner of the weekly 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge will then be automatically qualify for the monthly 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge where his entry will be competing for a chance to win 40 SBD from me based on the highest number of dollar upvotes from other Steemians. The winners of the weekly 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge will compete against each other.
The absolute winner of the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge will then receive 100 SBD from me. The absolute winner will be selected from the monthly winners of the entire year once again based on the total dollar value of upvotes received from other Steemians.
Note: I reserve the right to make some changes on the go to make this contest smooth and successful. Any entries that will use non-personal photos will be disqualified immediately without the chance of re-entering again. Please help me to upvote and resteem this post to get it to masses so that only the best image will take the winning reward amounting approximately 200 SBD in total (including upvotes on their winning announcements).

First I want to thank you for increasing the already generous rewards!
But I have to say that I really do not like the new rule that requires a resteem to take part in the photo challenge.
I have always resteemed your winner announcements when you featured one of my photos since these posts featuring my photography as a cover photo are also relevant to my followers. Apart from that, I am very selective on the posts I resteem.
Some other contests already do require a resteem - the killerpix contest to name one. Since I follow many photographers, I already see their announcement in my feed like five times a day, this is annoying. This is why I feel like contests that require a resteem to take part really only try to benefit their own popularity, but harm Steemit as a platform.
It would be great if Steemit at least had a function to hide resteems of posts that already appeared in the feed, but since there is nothing like that and the only option would be to mute you (which I really don't want to do!) I will probably see resteems of your contest announcements in my feed 5-10 times a day now and miss out on the content of the people I follow, the content that I am here to see.
And even if there was an option like that, I feel like resteeming your post every day would give people visiting my blog a hard time to find my own content upon all these resteems.
This is why I decided not to take part in such contests when I joined Steemit four weeks ago and your decision to require resteems is really giving me a hard time to decide if I will still be taking part in the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge. My blog would not be where it is now without your support, but for the reasons I have named above I think that having more resteems than own posts in my blog would impact the quality of my blog more than the exposure of taking part in more contests would help me to build a popular photography and travel blog.
I hope you will think about my arguments and maybe reconsider this step.

Hi Julian! You did give me a second thought about this and I have to say that you did make a good point. I only had a growth of the challenge and attracting best talents out there in mind not thinking how it might impact you guys. I will make a re-do a post in a day or to taking this out. I hope everybody notices the small changes regarding the "Resteeming" of the contest post. Maybe you should highlight it in a different manner. I actually didn't read it till after my submission ;)
