I have a friend who didn't eat cheese either. And then after a trip to France and Italy, he started eating cheese!
I didn't eat cheese when I was a kid. We just never had cheese at home. I haven't even seen cheese in the store. At the institute, living in a dormitory, I saw that a guy I knew always ate cheese. I guess I've been eating it ever since. Once, in the hungry 90s, I was given cheese at work instead of money. It was a 3 kg head. My son and I ate it in a week. I gave a piece of cheese to a friend.
My husband is very spoilt. He grew up with more money than I did and it never crossed my mind not to eat what was served to me. He was able to pick and choose the foods he wanted to eat and his mother indulged him.
It is also difficult to force vegetables down his throat. If it is green then I can forget it.
I enjoy everything except I draw the line at liver, kidney, brains, eels, insects, and sheep's eyes. Please don't feed me those things. :-P
I honestly do not get why my husband hates cheese. It is so delicious! I can understand when people shy away from strong tasting cheeses such as blue cheese, but mild cheeses like mozzarella or cheddar are very tasty.
He will drink gallons of milk, but no milk products such as cheese, yogurt, sour cream. Except sweet whipped cream. He will eat bowls of that.
I will definitely tell him your cheese in lieu of wages story. He deserves to feel ashamed of his cheese rejection. :-P

My wife and I were also not spoiled in terms of food.
But I love the liver, kidneys, brain, blood. But I definitely don't want to eat insects, worms and similar food. 😂
OH yeah, blood. I hate blood too. Blood sausage--yuck! The Finnish people make blood pancakes. I have eaten those, but not because I wanted to. :-P
Ahaha.... I love blood sausage. I'll say more. I've seen people drinking raw hot blood from a dead piglet. That's really disgusting!
ewww! I would say that is dangerous. Pigs carry parasites and bacteria that are very dangerous to humans.
