Does new U.S. CLOUD Act threaten privacy of the global crypto community?
Under the language of the CLOUD Act, the EFF said, the government can access personal data without the target being aware. The act would give "unlimited jurisdiction to U.S. law enforcement over any data controlled by a service provider, regardless of where the data is stored and who created it."
This seems like another way to strip individual liberty and right to privacy. If no crime is committed and no warrants are issued, why should the government be able to gain access to our private data? This appears to be another effort by government to strike a dagger into the hearts of the new shared economy and global community building.
