RE: "HOW TO": reduce Climate Change produced by Cars

in #climatechange7 years ago

Public transportation is the most centralized economic activity there is! I subscribe to decentralize everything and public transportation is opposed to this at least in most implementations.

There are people who live Buenos Aires, can be made instantly unemployed by a public transport union, when they are unable to get to work via the subway they rely on.

Public works such as roads, allows anyone to move along the roads to where they need to go. A car provides comfort for the users and crumple zones for the dangerous drivers on the road. A bus driver's union can at anytime make subways or buses unusable for the duration of a strike. Even though, a strike can often block some important roads, there simply are not enough in a union to block all of them.

If you are going to use public transport, keep another means available for when there is a labor dispute.

indeed an important aspect to keep in mind! Thanks for the advice. However, does a strike really have a negative effect on your work because for me it is the same as being ill? And if you are ill you still will get paid.

It's advice to all who read this! And perhaps it doesn't apply to you but many arrangements pay for hour worked and if you don't show up, you don't get paid.

Even in your case, if you cannot get to your place of work, certainly you wont be able to do your job, so someone is losing out. That is your employer and his clients or your clients. If we have an arrangement where you have to be somewhere and I was paying you for that but you don't even show up, why should I pay you?

This is probably the hard truth
