Our Identities are valuable - Is this a step towards our control of them?

Been hearing about a future where we have an Identity BlackBox of sorts.
Like a digital avatar that we can program to release only specific personal data
whenever we interface with a third party - i.e. retailer, bank, website etc.

This company seems to taking some great strides : D
Any thoughts?
