The Uffizi, Florence. Italy
This museum has the finest Renaissance collection, starting with Giotto and running through Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio and beyond. And The building of Uffizi is incredible and interesting itself, as the building, originally the "uffizi" (that means 'offices ' in italian and it was Office building for the Medici family). It was designed by Giorgio Vasari, who wrote the world’s first art history text. Some 1,700 works are on display, with another 1,400 in storage. This gallery has astonishing masterpieces, like 1 Birth of Venus (Botticelli), 2 The Annunciation (Leonardo da Vinci), 3 Holy Family (Michelangelo)
In Uffizi you can also meet Pre-Renaissance (Cimabue, Simone Martini, Gentile da Fabriano) and Early Renaissance Works (sincere Fra-Angelico and elegant Filippo Lippi and his "Madonna and Child with angels") .
High Renaissance and Mannerism, Northern Italian and European Masters...
Just to summer up, it's really powerful Art Place and undoubtly must-visited.
