[b&w high-contrast photography]: Two examples of high contrast cityscape silhouettes from Brussels, Belgium

in #cityscape8 years ago (edited)

Early in the morning or later in the afternoon are perfect for high contrast photos that make dark silhouettes more powerful, whether of people or buildings. This post is a combination, but with clear focus on the inanimate aspect of things...

In the distance, you can see sun setting behind the Arc commemorating the foundation of the Belgian Kingdom, and the outlines of canopies of trees in Parc Cinquantenaire in Brussels. I also liked the historical lamp-posts and reflections of the afternoon sky in one of the buildings on the right.

This photo is based on the jagged city-scape silhouette, mixing old and new buildings, which is one of the characteristic features of Brussels. I hope to show you more of this photogenic city in future posts.

nice! I like that first one with long shadows

Thanks @lepton. Yes. Love the long shadow time of the day, and of the year - mostly winter and early spring. Also, with less leaves in the trees, shadow plays are more distinct.
