Do you like tension, fear, investigation? Or do you like drama, real life depicted in his harsh form? What's wrong with a little bit of gore? Would you like some story that let you shocked? Well then this list is what you need.
1. The Others
Nicole Kidman is a brilliant actor and early 2000's were probably her gold years as we can see in this beautiful movie.
We're talking about a different kind of thriller already, of course, we have a couple kids in it being clichès (as kids in movie tend to do) but a wonderful piece of quality cinema.
2. The Myst
A storm unleashes some creatures looking for blood, in a small town, people barricade themselves in a supermarket in order to survive and it gets terrifying.
It may be kind of an hard one for some of the readers but if you want that spicy mixture between horror and thriller then there you go this one is for you.
3. Donnie Darko
This one is just a kids movie... but is it for real?
Everyone loves Donnie Darko, if you're looking for meaning in movies, love, horror and a little bit of 80's culture well this one is just for you.
A brilliant movie that leaves you with a certain feeling that cannot be described with words.
4. 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days
This one is the less Sci-fi and horror oriented but probably the darkest, life is brutal and it can be brutal if you're determined to not play by its rules.
A beautiful film that goes around the edgy theme of abortion through the eyes of two Romanian students during the last years of the Ceaușescu regime.
A must see.
5. Antichrist
I promise, if you're gonna see this movie you're gonna cringe at least a couple time, a pain to watch (in a positive way) but briliantly exposing the relationship between man and women in their sexual habitat.
Actually exposing even more than that but it's really up to you to understand its meaning and words.
Not for everybody, that's for sure, and also it's not an easy movie so you shouldn't watch it if you're not gonna pay attention.
6. Schindler's List
What's even scarier than reality?
The past! That's for sure and this movie is in this list for the following reasons:
It's dark, heavy and it just show the actual events (with obviously a generous dose of Hollywoodian scripture choices) so if you haven't seen this at school or something you should take one evening and prepare yourself for some deep content.
7. Pietà - 피에타
If you're not use to Kim Ki-Duk movies then you're gonna find this one a little bit weird.
What's certain is that it's surely a deep, dark, powerful movie in all its beautiful cinematography and harshness it depicts a terrible truth in a wonderful vindictive way.
You cannot sleep on this one, that's for sure.
How about the DARK Knight? Seems pretty dark to me...
Go away Batman! Nobody wants you here..
You don't want me but you need me. You all got the hero you deserve. Now stop talking nonsense or before I casually throw a batarang at you
