Onicóforos y Artrópodo. (lab images)

Onychophores and Arthropod. Today I bring you images of arthropods and onychophores that you take in the laboratory (lab animal) that I see in my career, biology. So first I will define what these animals are, Onychophore and arthropods.

Phylum onychophora includes species commonly known as "velvet worms", they present lobopodia (non-articulated legs), and the name of the phylum is given to present a pair of curved nails at the distal ends of the lobopodia. On the other hand, the representatives of the Phylum Arthropoda have articulated appendages (legs), in addition to an exoskeleton chitinous.

In this first image we can see a representative of the phylum onychophora, it is a worm of velvet. This photo was taken from a magnifying glass to better see this little friend, who It may even seem very nice.

Here seen without the increase. It is really small, and you may notice that it is balcony however a live copy does not have that color, but for the time saved in alcohol tends to lose color.

This is the cross section, likewise, of an onychophore. But it is seen from a microscope. Although the truth did not go very well the image.

Already here we can see a representative of Phylum Arthropoda and Subphylum Crustacea, it is a shrimp.

Here the same shrimp seen with the magnifying glass.

This is a centipede, which belongs to the Phylum Arthropoda and Subphylum Unirramia.

And finally, here the leg of an insect, where you can see a kind of pads that It helps them to support themselves by standing or walking, in addition you can also appreciate the nails that are a characteristic shared with onychophores.
