Found tick with dinosaur blood
Spanish scientists have discovered in the amber field of El Soplao (Cantabria) a tick specimen that is "six million years older" than those found in Burma, in which evidence of the relationship of parasitism between ticks and ticks was found the dinosaurs 100 million years ago, and that now "is the oldest specimen in the world".
This is what scientists Antonio Arillo, from the Complutense University of Madrid, have shown on Wednesday; Xavier Delclos, from the University of Barcelona; and Dr. Enrique Peñalver, from the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME), during the presentation in Spain of the Burma tick conserved in amber, whose species has been baptized as 'Deinocroton draculi', which has demonstrated the parasitic coexistence with dinosaurs.
Specifically, experts have stated that the piece of amber contains "approximately 40 bugs and plant remains" next to the Spanish tick. "Probably the tick fell off its host from a tree," said Peñalver.
