Church in The Holy Land
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Jerusalem Branch meets each Saturday at BYU - Jerusalem Campus near the top of the Mount of Olives.
Very early Saturday Morning we walked from our Apartment in Jerusalem down to the Old City of Jerusalem, around the outer wall, past the Damascus Gate. To our joy we passed the Garden Tomb and Golgotha. On the long walk up the Mount of Olives, locals would call out "Mormons" recognizing that we were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints.
We arrived at BYU and found the Chapel. The seats are arranged in rows with the row in the front near the pulpit and each row behind slightly higher than the row in front of it. The front of the chapel is huge glass windows and you look out over the Old City of Jerusalem.
The photo above was taken after church from just outside the glass windows with the view from inside the chapel being the same.
A truly spiritual experience.
