Christmas with the Grinch
Imagine....... She said with baited breath! What would it be like to have peace on earth?
The question dipped and slid into her mind almost effortlessly, how would that appear?
What form would that take, she wondered as she smoothed her forehead with the tip of her index finger.
Trying hard to imitate what she imagined to be God's wishes for the new world. The first and foremost prediction of future holdings must come through those who are brave and not afraid to do what is right. The sound of a former co-worker entered her mind as she recalled being told she was too honest for her own good.
A crack appears to have surfaced in her mind as she carefully sifts through the notion of being too honest for ones own good. What does that mean, she couldn't find a clarity to cover such a notion and decided it was better lost. However something automatically places the idea into a very carefully prepared section of her mind and a soft seal settles into place as the thought seems well taken care of.
Nobodies perfect, she reminds herself. Flaws are always apparent, it's the thing that sticks out the most, however it's not what she chooses to take notice of. In fact it's the flaws she tries hard to overlook and the finer details of things more appealing about the person she wishes to focus on. However some people make it difficult to see anything good within themselves as they are prone to poor self image. These are the people who intrigue her the most. As they don't know their own strengths and weaknesses until they are truly tested. As though they somehow can't see their own inner beauty until it's made blindingly obvious through no making of their own.
Then there are those people who manage to go through life thinking so highly of themselves when they are so undeserved of a high self opinion. Like the bank manager who never gives to the poor, or the doctor who lets his brother go untreated or the mechanic who wont fix his wife's car. These are the pasty people, she calls them, they have pasted on smiles with pasted on apathy and no natural affections. They live on low energy and strive for a cover so clean they would imagine their own poop is as fragrant as a rose. The truth of these people is they take and they take and they give little or nothing back. These are the highly self important people, the kind of person who has little to no consideration of the chaos they cause in other people's lives. They see themselves as far more important than others because in their minds, they are the best thing since sliced bread.
Side bar: What the fuck is so important about sliced bread that it seems to have set a bench mark in history???
Perhaps the slicing strategy was the idea of fair within the family so nobody cut a slice larger than any other.
Not fair, is what people cry who weren't quick enough to take a large slice, the other's who noted the slice was too large will stand back and wait to see who rushes in next, the meek will gently form their opinions accordingly.
