DOES GOD EXIST? Part 2
Hello fellow Steemians. Today I come your way again on our search for God.
The questions on the existence of God continually plague the human mind. How do we know for sure that God exists? Is there enough evidence around us that point us to an all-powerful God? These are some of the questions that continuously baffle our mind in our search for God in the universe. There are many philosophical and scientific arguments to prove the existence of God.
Most of the time I hear people say there is not enough evidence for them to believe God exists. But is it really the lack of evidence? It is rather the suppression of evidence and not the lack of evidence.
Some also say I cannot believe in something that I cannot see. My question is, do you trust your eyes? Do you trust what you see? If you do, then let’s proceed. Is there a thing like sunrise and sunset? Does the sun move as our eyes may see? If there is no such a thing as sunrise but rather an illusion, how can we base our lives on only what we see? What about the mirage we see?
It is such a dangerous thing to think that nothing exists outside of the material world as Materialism may make us think.
THE MORALE ARGUMENT
There are many times when people who advance the argument for the non-existence of God would how can Christians claim there is an all-powerful and loving God when there is so much evil in the world. This assertion does not in any way rule out the existence of God but it rather provides a baseline for the case of God.
What objective point of reference do we have to brand an act as evil or good? What is our point of reference when we brand the acts of Hitler as evil and that of Martin Luther King Jnr as good?
If there is such a thing as ‘evil’ then there must be such a thing as ‘good’. If there is such thing as good and evil, we assume there is a moral law on the basis of which we can differentiate between such thing as good and evil.
If there is anything as a moral law, then there must be a moral law giver. That means if there is no moral law giver, there is no moral law. And if there is no moral law there is no good and evil.
This moral law giver must be a transcendent and all perfect being. And it is only the Christian God that can fits this transcendent moral law giver. All other world views are inconsistent and incoherence.
It is only faith in the Christian God through Jesus Christ can we be guaranteed true meaning to life on earth and life after. Jesus said, ‘... and I will never turn away the one who comes to me’. God loves you with an everlasting love and is waiting for you to come to Him and He will give your life true meaning.
God bless you.
