SO THAT NOTHING IS LOST
"SO WHEN THEY WERE FILLED, HE [Jesus] said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, SO THAT NOTHING IS LOST.”
John 6:12 (NKJV)
Comment: God is against waste. The fact that you are blessed with abundance does not mean you should be wasteful. If you look at this passage, Jesus said the fragments or the leftovers should be gathered, so that nothing is lost. It is most probably that the fragments were taking to the Needy who were not in that meeting.
If you are not a good manager or steward of God's resources, abundance might be a mirage for you.
Good management of God's resources made available for you, or frugality that is also known as careful management of material resources and especially money; is very important for every believer especially those who would be used for a particular assignment or another.
Know that the chastisement for wastefulness is poverty or lack. Whatever you are assigned to do, God will give you little to accomplish much. Not only that, all you needed for the assignment or the project at hand might not be given to you at a time.
However, you should not wait until you have gotten all the money needed. You would have to start with whatever amount that is made available and continued; building on that as the work progresses or continues.
In God's work, or ministry, or whatever you are assigned to do by Him; He releases money in parts or batches. God would release the first part or the first instalment and watches you how you managed or spent it; whether It was used wisely, judiciously, or you squandered it.
Understanding a financial management is very important If you wanted God to trust you with abundance.
Whatever would be committed to your hand, materially or financially, God must have tested you and known your capacity; your stewardship capacity or ability, before He did or trusted you with it.
Note: If you are a leader of ministry, the money brought to your ministry is not your money; It was meant to pass through your hand:
a. You are a steward or a trustee, given the responsibility to manage or take care of another person's resources, that is, God resources.
b. How you manage the little given to you determines whether you would be put over much.
What is being shared here is not only about ministry resources or money; the same is applicable to the money given to you as well—financial or material gifts received in the course of your assignment.
a. You should be able to control your appetite.
b. You should learn how to live your size per time.
What is being shared here is the bane or the undoing of some believers and ministers; even in their personal finances.
Discipline yourself to live within your income, whatever God made available for you. One of the good attributes that a believer or minister should possess is contentment: "NOW GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS GREAT GAIN" (1 Timothy 6:6 NKJV).
"A GODLY LIFE BRINGS HUGE PROFITS TO PEOPLE WHO ARE CONTENT WITH WHAT THEY HAVE."
1 Timothy 6:6 (GOD’S WORD Translation)
May the Lord give you understanding.
