RECONCILEMENT
“AND HE AROSE AND CAME TO HIS FATHER. But when he was still a great way off, HIS FATHER SAW HIM AND HAD COMPASSION, AND RAN AND FELL ON HIS NECK AND KISSED HIM."
Luke 15:20 (NKJV)
Comment: This Bible passage and verse shows us that God is eagerly to receive back whoever goes astray from Him. If a believer misses it, such should not hesitate to retrace his or her steps back to God, for reconciliation—It always gladdens God's heart to welcome back whoever has gone astray. In other words, It is always God's Will to receive back whoever goes astray.
If your relationship with God is marred or defaced, instead of going away from Him completely, you should endeavour to come closer to Him and ask for His forgiveness and mercy (1 John 1:9).
There is a provision in God's Word for whoever misses it to be reconciled back to Him:
1 MY LITTLE CHILDREN, THESE THINGS I WRITE TO YOU, SO THAT YOU MAY NOT SIN. AND IF ANYONE SINS, WE HAVE AN ADVOCATE WITH THE FATHER, JESUS CHRIST THE RIGHTEOUS. 2 AND HE HIMSELF IS THE PROPITIATION FOR OUR SINS, AND NOT FOR OURS ONLY BUT ALSO FOR THE WHOLE WORLD" (1 John 2:1–2 (NKJV).
The prodigal son in our text chose to go back to his father, likewise, God is expecting any child of His who went astray to come back to Him. The young man decided to go back Instead of wasting away in a strange land—foreign land. He knew those who are with his father, his father's servants, are having more than enough; why would he be famished and be wasting away in a foreign land (Luke 15:17,18).
If you are being moved to leave where God has planted you, or you have left the place where you ought to be, and things are not going on well with you; I will enjoin you to retrace your steps back to where you left which you ought to be. While you are away from God or you are not at the right place you ought to be; the heart of God also is longing to have you back.
If where you are presently is not the right place you ought to be, I would enjoin you to go back to where you ought to be (2 Corinthians 5:20).
Some could not give any cogent reason why they wanted to leave where God has planted them. And those who have left the place, what made them leave, they could not give any tangible reason for it.
a. Why do you want to leave your appointed place?
b. Why are you not content or satisfied with where God has placed or put you?
Likewise on the assignment or the ministry given to you, Why are you not satisfied with the work or the assignment or the kind ministry given to you?
You cannot define ministry for God! You should gladly accept and agree with God on whatever assignment given to you and wherever you are sent or placed to carry out the assignment or vision.
If you agree with God, you would experience Joy and fulfilment at the end. However, If you rebelled sorrows and regrets might be the outcome.
Peace.
