HE WAS FAITHFUL
"SO THE GOVERNORS AND SATRAPS SOUGHT TO FIND SOME CHARGE AGAINST DANIEL CONCERNING THE KINGDOM; but they could find no charge or fault, BECAUSE HE WAS FAITHFUL; NOR WAS THERE ANY ERROR OR FAULT FOUND IN HIM."
Daniel 6:4 (NKJV)
Comment: Daniel's faithfulness and dedication to duty was topnotch and impeccable. Other top officials in government who plotted against him could not find any error or mistake in him that could be used against him (Daniel 6:4).
If your work is always done shoddily, God also would not be committed to you. The God we serve is a God of excellence. He does not want anything done for Him, or things done by any of His children, be done shoddily—imperfectly. The reason why God defended or protected Daniel was his faithfulness (Daniel 6:4).
Some people, even professed believers, are not excellent in what they do. If any work is given to them, they do it poorly and insincerely—they would do a mediocre Job—because they have lazy mentality.
A number of people who are struggling financially, who probably blaming God for their conditions, contributed to it. A good number of such people, even believers, are laidback or apathetic in their approach to the work given to them; whilst some are quacks.
If you are not good enough in whatever you are doing for living, you would do well to go and upgrade your knowledge.
If what you are doing is getting outmoded—no longer acceptable, current, or usable—wisdom demands that you also upgrade your knowledge that you may be relevant in your field.
If you are good in whatever you are doing, you would not be put aside.
Not only that, you should be up and doing or active in whatever you are doing (Proverbs 27:23). Work for the money you earn (Proverbs 22:29).
Some work in an establishment, all they do is to be planning on how to collude with others to swindle their employer—they are underhanded and shady in their works or dealings.
If you are a believer and the things mentioned in this teaching and other negative traits are found in your life, God will not be able to rise and defend you, as He did in the case of Daniel, when opposition arises against you.
In most cases, If you see an employee complaining bitterly about his or her Boss or employer, such might have a lazy attitude to work.
There is no how mean or hostile an employer or a Boss is, If you are diligent in whatever you are assigned or employed to do; you would be his or her favourite.
Wherever you are working, you should always endeavour to exceed what you are given you to do—do more or extra. You should not put money ahead of service, but service or work first before rewards. Some people, including believers, cannot do anything without a monetary reward. If you had such a mentality, a lot of good things will elude you.
In our text, those who were against Daniel could not find any charge or fault against him concerning his work or duty, because he was faithful. If I may ask you, Are you faithful in what you are employed to do or what you are given as a contract to execute?
The truth is, If you used the pattern or system of the people of the world in your work or business or vocation, you would not get heaven's results.
A believer who uses the principles of the world in running his or her business or vocation or whatever would not get heaven's backings and results. God will not support unrighteousness and unfaithfulness, even as you claim to be a believer—a child of His.
God defended Daniel because he was impeccable in character. This was said about him: " . . . BECAUSE HE WAS FAITHFUL; NOR WAS THERE ANY ERROR OR FAULT FOUND IN HIM" (Daniel 6:4 NKJV).
Do you have this type of testimony where you work? In other words, Can other people where you work say this concerning you? Are you not shortchanging, defrauding, pilfering, or purloining where you work?
You might not be defrauding in your own case, but If you are lazy or laidback in your approach to work, you are also guilty of what is taught in the Bible (Proverbs 10:4; 12:24,27; 13:4).
Peace.
