GLEANED FROM THE BOOK OF ACTS—Chapter 1

9 NOW when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,
11 WHO ALSO SAID, “MEN OF GALILEE, WHY DO YOU STAND GAZING UP INTO HEAVEN? THIS SAME JESUS, WHO WAS TAKEN UP FROM YOU INTO HEAVEN, WILL SO COME IN LIKE MANNER AS YOU SAW HIM GO INTO HEAVEN." "
Acts 1:9-11 (NKJV)

• Jesus gave many convincing proofs, the cogency of evidences, that He was alive.

• If Jesus was not alive, His name would not heal the sick, raise the dead, and perform wonders:
  12 SO WHEN PETER SAW IT, HE RESPONDED TO THE PEOPLE: “MEN OF ISRAEL, WHY DO YOU MARVEL AT THIS? OR WHY LOOK SO INTENTLY AT US, AS THOUGH BY OUR OWN POWER OR GODLINESS WE HAD MADE THIS MAN WALK? 16 AND HIS NAME, THROUGH FAITH IN HIS NAME, HAS MADE THIS MAN STRONG, WHOM YOU SEE AND KNOW. YES, THE FAITH WHICH COMES THROUGH HIM HAS GIVEN HIM THIS PERFECT SOUNDNESS IN THE PRESENCE OF YOU ALL" (Acts 3:12,16 NKJV).

• Thus, If Jesus was alive, the believers in Him should not live like those who do not have hope: " . . . BRETHREN, concerning those who have fallen asleep, LEST YOU SORROW AS OTHERS WHO HAVE NO HOPE" (1 Thessalonians 4:13 NKJV).

• Some professed believers live like those who do not have hope of Jesus' coming and eternity; they live a carefree life, like the unbelievers do:
  11 BELOVED, I BEG YOU AS SOJOURNERS AND PILGRIMS, ABSTAIN FROM FLESHLY LUSTS WHICH WAR AGAINST THE SOUL, 12 HAVING YOUR CONDUCT HONOURABLE AMONG THE GENTILES, THAT WHEN THEY SPEAK AGAINST YOU AS EVILDOERS, THEY MAY, BY YOUR GOOD WORKS WHICH THEY OBSERVE, GLORIFY GOD IN THE DAY OF VISITATION" (1 Peter 2:11,12 NKJV).
• If you are expecting Jesus' return, you will keep yourself, and not defile yourself with the evil system of the world:
  2 BELOVED, NOW WE ARE CHILDREN OF GOD; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, BUT WE KNOW THAT WHEN HE IS REVEALED, WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM, FOR WE SHALL SEE HIM AS HE IS. 3 AND EVERYONE WHO HAS THIS HOPE IN HIM PURIFIES HIMSELF, JUST AS HE IS PURE" (1 John 3:2,3 NKJV).

• If you claimed to be saved or born-again and you are still living habitually in Sin, It means you do not have hope.

• Someone, a believer, who has hope, expecting the coming of Christ Jesus, would know that he or she is a sojourner and pilgrim on the earth; that this world is not their home, and they are going somewhere after their journey on earth (Philippians 3:20).
• Jesus' coming might seem to be delayed or tarried, but He will surely come:
  9 THE LORD IS NOT SLACK CONCERNING HIS PROMISE, AS SOME COUNT SLACKNESS, BUT IS LONG-SUFFERING TOWARD US, NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH BUT THAT ALL SHOULD COME TO REPENTANCE. 10 BUT THE DAY OF THE LORD WILL COME AS A THIEF IN THE NIGHT, IN WHICH THE HEAVENS WILL PASS AWAY WITH A GREAT NOISE, AND THE ELEMENTS WILL MELT WITH FERVENT HEAT; BOTH THE EARTH AND THE WORKS THAT ARE IN IT WILL BE BURNED UP" (2 Peter 3:9,10 NKJV).

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.

• Whatever is not of God in your body is rebuked and completely rooted up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
• I declare your total healing and the affliction will never rise again in Jesus' mighty name.

STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. As you took the steps A and B your name is written in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).

• If you took the steps As highlighted above, congratulations, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!
