Paul was a Christian who used his life to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. For this reason this scripture you quoted says Christ strengthened him.

...the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it...

What Paul says here reminds me of what Jesus said in John 15:2 that "...He (the Father) prunes every branch in me that bears fruit so that it can bear even more fruits "

Like Paul, we'll always enjoy supernatural assistance as we give ourselves to the mandate of covering the whole earth with the knowledge of God as the waters cover the seas.
