Tapping Into The Mercy of God For Your Restoration.

Our God is a God of mercy; and as such, he made all things temporal. When God appears, the mountains must disappear. When the glory of God is revealed, every mountain disappears and every crocked and rough places is made straight - Isaiah 46: 4-5. In Isaiah 54:10, God further says 

"For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee".

It is God's mercy that restores health and life. You are a candidate of God's mercy, he says, 

"...I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy...". 

As a Christian, you are the root of Jacob whom he loves. And so things may not work out for others, but it will work out for you by the mercy of God. Those who bank on efforts can fail, but they that bank on God's mercy never fail. Rise up every morning and say LORD, I am banking on your mercy this morning. God loves those who bank on his mercy; he never rejects the call for mercy. Blind Bhartimeous called on Jesus saying, "Son of David have mercy on me". Jesus out of compassion stopped and ministered unto him. 

God's mercy is stronger than the strongest of your enemies. This mercy is what we need for our full restoration, it is the shortest route to his help - Hebrews 4:16. On the throne of mercy there is help. When you come to a point when you don't know what is happening, and you can not help it, just ask for God's mercy.

Peculiarities of God's mercy

Every time you ask for mercy, God does not ask why. He knows you have gotten to your wit end; and have come to acknowledge him as your only helper. Every other thing like prayer, sacrifice, faith etc may fail, but mercy never fails. In Lamentation 3:22, scripture says, 

"It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassion fail not". 

When God decides to have mercy on somebody, nothing can cause it to fail. When God's mercy appears to you, every other thing collapse, every obstruction crumbles.

Mercy is defined as leniency, to over look, tolerate and pardon. So when God have mercy on you, it means he decides to be lenient or to over look, tolerate or pardon you, so as to allow things to work in your life. Scripture says in Isaiah 49:24-25, 

"Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the LORD, even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children". 

Only, mercy can do that? That means that, when satan has legal reason to capture you, the moment God's mercy appears, you shall be delivered. Nothing can stand against you at the point of mercy. Efforts may fail, but God's mercy never fails. 

When do you need mercy? 

1. When you don't know what to do; when you come at a cross road. In 2 Chronicles 20:12, King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah, not knowing what to do against their enemies cried unto God for mercy and help. When you don't know what to do again, what to do is to bank on God's mercy and call for it. 

2. When accomplishment seems impossible: You are stagnated, and all your labor seems to be in vain, then you need to call upon Gods mercy. Not every one working is winning, not every one sweating is shinning. When you are working and not winning, then you need to call on God for mercy. God's mercy translates your little input into a large output. One of the way not to pray amiss, is to pray for mercy. 

3. When you are confronted with a force that seems stronger than you, you need God's mercy: God's mercy is stronger than the strongest of your enemies. For instance the force of a terrible sin that is driving you to hell and preventing God's hand over you; you've promised God never to go into it severally, yet you find yourself in it again and again, then you need to ask God for God's mercy over it. Mercy is a sledge hammer against generational curses. Some curses inherited by your generation, which affected your grand father and your father; and now it is looming over you too, you need to call upon God's mercy to avert it over you. 

4. When you have behaved foolishly, and done what you are not suppose to do, you need to call on God's mercy: Remember that even the thief on the cross with Jesus received mercy and made heaven. When you need the touch of God for physical healing, or to remove a "but" in your life, you need to call on God's mercy.

How Do You Secure The Mercy of God?

1. By acknowledging that you need it - Proverbs 3:3-6.

2. By trusting in it: Believing that when it comes, it will stop the problem. The Psalmist in charpter 52:8 says, 

"But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever".

3.By being merciful yourself: In Matthew 5:7, Jesus says 

"Blessed are the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy". 

That means if you are not merciful, you too will not obtain mercy. Sow mercy seeds always.

4. You obtain mercy through prayer: In Hebrew 4:16, we are enjoined to, 

"...come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need".
