Bible cosmology
We have been brainwashed with a quasi-scientific paradigm of the world. A materialistic conception that reduces all things to mechanics and mathematics, including humans. A paradigm is a map that we keep in our head of how things work, a broad concept of the world that tells us where we are and what we are and consequently what we should be doing here.
We are led to believe by the scientific authorities that the earth is a ball floating through the empty vacuum of space at mind-bending speeds and that everything in existence is the result of an accident, a mistake, a random throw of a dice. The bible presents an alternative paradigm.
According to the first book of Genesis, God created the heaven and the earth. Heaven is the world where God and his angels live, earth is just a dark pool of water and rock. After this God creates a light to separate darkness and light - creating night and day. This first light is not the sun, it is the light above the water. After this he makes a firmament inside the water. The firmament is basically an enclosure, an immense solid container submerged in water. The firmament is placed in the water (previously called earth) and divides the water above and below the firmament. The firmament he calls heaven because from our perspective it is heaven, the one we see above us.
He lowered the water level inside the firmament so that solid ground could rise above the water level and he made plant-life to grow on the surface of the earth. After that he created the sun, moon and stars inside the firmament. After that he made marine and avian life and at last he made beasts of the earth including man.
The world we live in is an enclosed system designed specifically to sustain various kinds of life and it was designed by God. In my mind, a random explosion in an infinite vacuum of space could never form a single planet with an atmosphere let alone a single species of living organisms. But, I suppose one has to place his faith in chance if he eliminates the certainty of God.
No, the earth is a globe that orbits the sun. The sun is part of the Milky Way galaxy. The earth isn't flat. The Bible never explicitly says that. You not only teach something false you're a stumbling block to those who seek God because who would find God if they had to believe in a flat earth???

The Earth and Space
God-CreationThe earth’s shape is perhaps the most important to deal with first since many critics claim that the Bible portrays the earth as flat. This couldn’t be farther from the truth and in my opinion is one of the most vaporous arguments used by skeptics against the Bible. There is not a single passage that plainly states that the earth is flat1. The groundswell of this criticism gets its roots from the inaccurate but common belief among many that the ancients on up through the middle ages believed that the earth was flat. The truth is, virtually all learned people have known for the last 2500 years that the earth is spherical [please see footnote 2].
Before the learned ancients surmised that the earth was spherical, the divinely inspired Isaiah wrote “It is He who sits above the circle of the earth…(Isaiah 40:22)”. In addition, from the Book of Job we have “He stretches out the north over empty space; he hangs the earth on nothing (Job 26:7)”. It should be noted that just last century scientists believed space consisted of a hypothetical substance called Ether (not the chemical), which was the medium between the celestial bodies. Also, the pagans of that time believed in such things as a mythical Atlas character who supported the pillars that held heaven and earth apart, and later carried the earth around on his shoulders. Another interesting tidbit that illuminates the divine nature of Job 26:7 is the recent discovery of a huge hole in space in the direction of the northern hemisphere3.
We see all the pictures of a round earth from space. We see the videos of a rotating earth. Even if we don't look at that, flat earthers are never able to present a map of a flat earth consistent with airplane distances. Somewhere you'd have to have map distances 25,000 miles apart between cities and none of those exist. The longest flight is only 9,000 miles.
What I wrote here comes straight out of genesis and you need to go back and read it again from the bible and ask yourself if it makes any sense to you considering both the globe and flat-earth models. This is not a salvation issue, you don't need to accept this worldview in order to get saved, you only need to believe that Jesus is the son of God. But, this comes out of the word of God and I deem it as the truth more valuable than any man made science/fiction.
Isaiah calls it a circle, not a ball. Job mentions he doesn't hang the earth on anything but the north may be a reference to polaris as being the only point above the empty water. But can you explain 1Samuel 2:8 "for the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and he hath set the world upon them."? Its not hanging, its placed on pillars.

"We see the videos of a rotating earth."CGI and the ones you do see that are real are shot with fish-eye lenses only rarely revealing a truly flat horizon, most of them don't show the horizon at all.
Try looking at people sending high-altitude balloons with cameras. The footage shows a flat horizon no matter the altitude, so where is the curve? At times a video from NASA themselves will come out revealing a perfectly flat horizon for a split second but you won't see it if you don't know its there, most of the curvature is done in post-processing if not by lens distortion.
The globe earth was conceived by Pythagoras, a leader of a mystery school in Ancient Greece. Why would you believe a cult leader rather than believe God's word?
