Correcting With Gentleness

We as Christians need to ENCOURAGE each other.

But sometimes we feel we need to CORRECT each other, and people may respond according to the way you "come at" or approach them: either positively or negatively. There is a way to say it and a way not to say it. I am guilty, as a teacher, both in the secular world and in God's Kingdom, of having done it pedantically and/or harshly. I have had to repent and ask for forgiveness. This includes both face-to-face (offline) and online, like Facebook, Steemit, Twitter, etc.

The Apostle Paul says that when we as Christians correct, we should do it with gentleness, even if we passionately feel that they are wrong; and, as a result, there could be positive results:

"And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, CORRECTING HIS OPPONENTS WITH GENTLENESS. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will." - 2 Timothy 2:24-26 (ESV) (capitalization mine)
