Remember, there's no in-between. Well, maybe we can say in certain times the other rules the other depending on the circumstance, but if you sum it all up ... Which side do you think rules?
Take time to ponder
Our mind is a war zone. An intangible battlefield. It is where the greatest battle is held. It is where our choices are being processed and wrestle. According to Merriam, the mind is a part of a person that thinks, feels and remembers. It is the complex of elements in an individual that perceives, wills and especially reasons.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5, says "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete." It clearly states, that our very thought should be taken captive to the obedience of Christ and not captured by another audience. So that we won't be led to the path of disobedience and end up into destruction. You see, how we think matters and what we choose in every decision we make causes a great impact in our lives. We must be careful about how and what we think, our thoughts run our life." (Proverbs 4:23 NCV)
We must choose to do what is good, to do what's right, to be positive, to be wise and mostly to seek God's will even if it's hard. Being wise by surrendering to the will of God is the key in succeeding life's greatest battle, but the question is ...
" How can we become wise?"
First, We can be wise by asking God for wisdom. In James 1:5 God said, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." We need to ask God for counsel. The sources where we can go and look for that is of course, first and foremost, the Bible. Next, from your spiritual mentors, your pastor or church elder or even your own parents. Second, we have to walk with the wise. Proverbs 13:20 says that you must walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. In order to be wise we must surround ourselves with people who are wise. Making friends with the right people will influence you to do the right things.
In doing so, it means that we are lifting up and surrendering our own will to God and letting His will for us be established in our lives. Letting God by letting go. That's where 2 Corinthians 10:5b is clearly portrayed "... we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." By obeying Him, we are letting His will be done in our lives. His will is identified by reading the Word and by praying , asking Him for guidance.
